There was a time when comedians actually attempted to be funny rather than shocking. Vulgarity is getting rather passe in some circles, so something more needs to be done to ramp up the shock value. Burning or beheading effigies of one's ideological opponents is a logical next step.

Looks like I was wrong. I really thought the liberal media would let her skate by on this, especially with the way liberal "journalists" have been downplaying the whole thing as no big deal and not even worth talking about.

I've also heard reports that Griffin has lost some lucrative advertising deals as well.

Kathy Griffin's shtick was always to be abrasive and annoying as hell. She did that very well, but she was never funny at it. Don Rickles, he was abrasive and annoying, but funny to boot.

At least it was an apology rather than the I'm-sorry-if-you-were-offended crap we generally hear that puts the blame squarely on those disgusted by the behavior. Still, you have to wonder how she ever thought this stunt was a good idea.

At least she sort of apologized "despite being caught on video mocking the impending firestorm during the photo shoot." Obviously a sincere apology, not.
