Intelligent life outside of earth
I am just wondering who believes that intelligent life exists outside of our planet?
(Not mentioning beings like angels or demons).
If so, do you believe they would have similar religious beliefs or would they be radically different?
Do you think they would interact with us?

Re: Intelligent life outside of earth
I doubt intelligent life exists outside of our planet, but there's no particular reason why there couldn't be. I'd expect Christianity would be similar to one of their religions, just under a different covenant, but there's no particular reason why they'd have to be similar. Nuking us from space could be the extent of their interaction, but I see no particular reason why they would ignore us, other than perhaps our culture being too primitive.

All it would do is change my belief that we're alone. If anything, it would just confirm the fact that God is a Creator God who enjoys life.

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

I sometimes wonder if there is intelligent life here on earth.
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

Re: Intelligent life outside of earth
I believe there are many places in the universe that has intelligent life. We are probably on the lower end of the spectrum and very primitive. I believe that One god is the source of all things. This one god is called by many names. We fight over religion on this planet because the naive can not see that most of are religions are based on myth, legend with a little truth.

I have never seen any evidence of alien intelligence.
Well, that argument seems acceptable to atheists. He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

Re: Intelligent life outside of earth
If intelligence exists, free will exists.
If free will exists, the possibility of evil exists.
If evil exists, they must come to Christ to be cleansed and redeemed just like anyone else...

I don't think evil is necessary for free will. It could be that you can choose what you want to do from a list of good things while for some reason being incapable of doing bad things.

In that case, we won't have free will in Heaven. I think the difference between what Adam was then vs. what we will be like in Heaven is that we'll see God and perhaps it's actual first-hand knowledge or sight of God's glory that we remove even the possibility of sinning even among creatures with free will.

Re: Intelligent life outside of earth
I agree...
Does the Trinity have free will? Does that mean they are free to choose evil? I suggest that they DO have free will but WILL NEVER choose evil because of their SELF CHOSEN commitment to each other in love.
If someone never chose evil by a true free will decision, and so has been completely within GOD's will for, let's say, millennia, would they still have the freedom to chose? I think so but I know they never will go against GOD's will.
Now those of us who lost our freedom of will by becoming enslaved by sin, will be trained up into the perfection of righteousness until we too will have eschewed all that is evil BY CHOICE and will never sin again...(the reason for life.).
Peace, Ted
