My Deviant Nose

Has anyone ever had a deviated septum? Basically the middle part of my nose is crooked. If I inhale, the right nostril closes. I never really noticed this because I had bigger fish to fry, but it is very hard for me to breathe through my nose. So anyone have similar experience in this case?

My brother had that. They had to break his nose (surgically) and reset it. It works fine now.
When we were kids, we slept in the same room, and he always whistled in his sleep when he breathed.

Word is the surgery fixed the whistle. It's much clearer now.

Yes, I too had a deviated septum. I got surgery done on it, and there is most certainly an improvement. The surgery and recovery period were fine - they put 2 plastic "holders" in each nostril to ensure the septum stays straight, so a bit of an inconvenience but no pain. The worst part was when the doctor had to check if my septum was in fact deviated, and he inserted this wiry, tube-like instrument way up into both my nostrils that felt like it had penetrated my brain...*shudders*

Yes, I too had a deviated septum. I got surgery done on it, and there is most certainly an improvement. The surgery and recovery period were fine - they put 2 plastic "holders" in each nostril to ensure the septum stays straight, so a bit of an inconvenience but no pain. I think its common. Most of the peoples left side of nose is been blocked or got less space to breath. The right side is more wider and easy to breath.

oh man... after the catheter I don't think I want more tubes in different parts of me
