      Thanks to John Reece for pointing this out on another thread. I believe this is the problem we run into in not allowing the descriptions of pain in Romans 8 to be defined as suffering:

      Unwarranted restriction of the semantic field, as explained by D. A. Carson in Exegetical Fallacies (Grand Rapids: BakerBooks, 1996), pages 57-60:
