      My Macbook Pro repaired itself!

So I suddenly had some computer problems and after restarting several times with no success in resolving them used the disk utility to see what was wrong. Apparently the hard drive was corrupted. I didn't have a disk to restart from so after some quick searching I found that restarting in safe mode will start disk repairs.

Lo and behold, I restart in safe mode, and everything is working fine. I check the disk utility and there is no more corrupt hard drive being detected.

And this, my friends, is why I love Macs. I've even checked the disk utility a couple more times and it says it reads things as ok and the problems I had are resolved.

I'd still back up any important files if I were you.

I already have, using time machine. I was going to use that first, but it was copying stuff really slowly when I tried restoring it.

For those interested, the error involved was "Invalid Volume Free Block Count" or something along those lines.
