      Louise Farrakhan endorses Scientology

This is from back in February, but it was so weird I just had to share it now
      http://www.finalcall.com/artman/publ...cle_7648.shtml

"I must say to America, to the world of Caucasian people: Mr. L. Ron Hubbard is so exceedingly valuable to every Caucasian person on this Earth. All White people should flock to L. Ron Hubbard!"

"L. Ron Hubbard's effort was and is to civilize White people, and make them better human beings; and take away from their Reactive Mind."

"I respect L. Ron Hubbard, and I honor that man for trying to make White people better than they are. And the White people that are under his teachings are better than those that we have met in our sojourn in America"
I've come to realize that Ivo just might be right about more things than we give him credit for. And yes, that is scary. -Little Shepherd

so is he saying that he believes Scientology is true, or just trying to get all the "White People" into a wacky cult so he can laugh at them?

I think he may accept some of Scientology as true.

      http://www.tampabay.com/news/religio...-islam/1128781
During the four-day convention, Nation of Islam members had the chance to attend a "study tech" workshop and buy books from World Literacy Crusade, a tutoring program that uses the teachings of Hubbard.

The organizations' relationship became prominent in 2006 when Scientology honored Farrakhan, who was unable to attend, during its annual Ebony Awakening awards ceremony at the church's Fort Harrison Hotel in Clearwater.
There's also this unconfirmed report from 2009

So does this mean that the mothership orbiting the Earth that Farrakhan says he has visited and Elijah Muhammad inhabits is part of Xenu's Galactic Confederacy?

Farrakhan and Scientology, neither were meant to be taken seriously.

To anyone who may have noticed my mistake in the thread title. I realize I misspelled Farrakhan's first name, however:

      A. It's not as though Farrakhan deserves to have his name spelled correctly.

      B. I think my error is actually kind of funny.

I noticed and I agree with B, so I left it alone.

On the contrary, I think Scientology should be taken very seriously. It is one of the most dangerous groups in the US.

I believe they need to be taken seriously as potentially dangerous cults. Scientology has rather sinister implications with strong control oriented thinking that resembles things like the George Orwell's book 1984.

      Re: Louise Farrakhan endorses Scientology

I've actually been doing some reading on some of what Scientology has historically done (Operation Freakout in the 70s, etc.) I don't really follow pop culture but I understand it's kind of in the public eye again because of questions regarding the church potentially harassing Katie Holmes right now.

As for the Nation of Islam.. I'll freely admit I know very little about it.
