Re: This Generation
Ok cool then.
Well let me ask this one last thing then: If the binding of satan was during Jesus' earthly ministry, what of the predicted defeat of satan and the effect of 70AD? Would the fall of jerusalem not have been the binding? Rev talks about satan knowing his time is short and such, so it seems a bit off to say he was bound during Christ's earthly time but then satans defeat at 70AD be future still?
Does that make sense?

Re: This Generation
Hey there RB,
Thank you again if I've not already for being patient with my questions. You seem pretty informed on this which is why I keep probing through for clarification.
What I'm asking is that how does the described binding of Satan work with Revelation 12:12: But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!"
How can the devil still be active here in an attempt to destroy Jesus' kingdom if he was earlier bound? I had thought he knew his time was short, because the event of AD70 was about to occur?

Re: This Generation
I can't think of any reason that 70 AD would be what makes Satan's time short. Satan's time is "short" in the same sense that Christ's return is "soon": The final chapter of human history has begun, and when Jesus returns, it's all over for this world. Revelation 12 describes the ongoing history of Satan's fruitless attempts to defeat the church (the woman of Rev 12). The fruitless nature of these attacks (e.g. the river swallowed by the crevice in Rev 12) is the same idea conveyed by the binding of Satan in Rev 20.

Re: This Generation
I believe it does refer to AD70. I will address it in a future podcast, I just did one on the binding.
Rey I got your email but I don't have time to answer questions by email-- I get way too many. I pick ones to answer on the podcast, sorry, but that is the only way I have any time at all.Nochyu mokraya ptitsa nikogda ne letaet.

Re: This Generation
Something has occurred to me though: earlier you'd spoken of the vision regarding the dragon chasing a child (Christ) - which occurs in the same verse in confused about. If the entire context is about Jesus coming/earthly ministry, then satans time certainly was short. I may have untangled my own confusion. :)

Re: This Generation
If I can, I will address it in Episode 54, which I am presently planning. For the first episode on the binding, see Episode 48
