Try to keep it civil though. The rules still apply here.

Hard not to be when nearly everybody has been Christian.

Depends what you mean by the traditional view. Too often it's used for genera bigotry like not allowing gays to marry, so you'll have to define it specifically before I know what you mean.

every day we become more like Maoist China where the only christianity allowed is that dictated by the ruling political ideology.
I'd argue that strictly religious views have no place in politics to begin with, but anyways, politics have to change with the times.

I don't think that given that christians are in the House of Lords & government in general more than they are in the general population as mentioned previously (most of our recent prime ministers have identified as Christian) helps your argument.

You've probably bought into the simplistic class wars of Jeremy Corban when things are much more complicated. Fact is if Labour are so outraged about the sprinkler systems then why didnt they install them between 1997 and 2008 when tney had ample opportunity to do so.
I've spoken about neoliberal labour under Blaire previously. I'm also not a corbinite.

Was Grenfell tower really prettied up to so!ely to please the rich who couldnt bare looking upon its ugliness? I doubt that and more likely is the fact that the cladding was done for a number of reasons - green energy conservation targets being one of them.
I haven't seen anyone who has said it was pretttied up due to its ugliness. I have seen that they went for the cheapest, non-firesafe option. That they were allowed to to begin with is the issue.

Please provide evidence that the cladding was chosen for green energy reasons. I haven't seen this, but the fact that you say this is the most likely case makes me wonder why.

No matter if the people in Grenfell were poor or not it is still a tragedy what happened.
Agreed. They died due to inept regulations, however, and it was entirely avoidable. That it happened needs to be addressed, and those who seemingly cut corners need to be prosecuted.

On 19 September 1893 the governor, Lord Glasgow, signed a new Electoral Act into law. As a result of this landmark legislation, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which all women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections.
On August 23, 1894 when the Adult Suffrage Bill was read in the South Australian Parliament the women presented a petition which had 11,600 signatures and was 122 metres long. It was a success. On 18 December, 1894 women were granted the right to vote and stand for Parliament - this was the first legislation in the world of its kind.

New Zealand beat us to the punch on women's voting rights, but not on allowing women to stand for election to parliament.

You Aussies and Kiwis gave women voting rights before us Finns, but we allowed women to stand as candidates for election before even Aussies.

Eh? Women were allowed to stand for election before they had voting rights? and only after an UPRISING?
