Not if the clouds are heavy enough.

If a sun shines behind heavy clouds and you can't see it, does it actually shine?

If you're in an airplane above the clouds, you see very clearly that the sun is shining on the heaviest clouds. It's a matter of perspective.

Reminds me of that saying - two men looked out from prison bars, one saw mud, the other stars. (Beck?)

On the clouds, yes -- through the clouds, not so much.

I would respectfully demand that I be henceforth referred to, not with the bigoted, patriarchal pronouns he, him, his, but with the pronouns you, youm, and you's (for possessive cases). Your cooperation is duly expected.

We prefer "Your Majesty" "His Majesty" (or "My Liege") and using the royal "we" when speaking of ourselves. And youm must bow three times to us before addressing us.

I think it would be kind of like saying "you are obviously some sort of freak" if you asked someone "what are your preferred pronouns?"

like "I don't know what the heck you are! so how do I address a freak such as yourself?"

since "her" and "hir" look like they would be pronounced the same, how would someone tell which is being used? or is it pronounced "hear"? and if so why not spell it that way.

Canada passed a law Thursday making it illegal to use the wrong gender pronouns. Critics say that Canadians who do not subscribe to progressive gender theory could be accused of hate crimes, jailed, fined, and made to take anti-bias training.

Canada’s Senate passed Bill C-16, which puts “gender identity” and “gender expression” into both the country’s Human Rights Code, as well as the hate crime category of its Criminal Code by a vote of 67-11, according to LifeSiteNews. The bill now only needs royal assent from the House of Commons to pass into law.

“Great news,” announced Justin Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister. “Bill C-16 has passed the Senate – making it illegal to discriminate based on gender identity or expression. #LoveisLove.”

“Proud that Bill C-16 has passed in the Senate,” said Jody Wilson-Raybould, the country’s attorney general and minister of justice. “All Canadians should feel #FreeToBeMe.”

And it isn't just those Crazy Canuckistanis.

Source: You can be fined for not calling people ‘ze’ or ‘hir,’ if that’s the pronoun they demand that you use

That’s the official legal guidance from the New York City Commission on Human Rights:

The NYCHRL [New York City Human Rights Law] requires employers[, landlords, and all businesses and professionals] to use an [employee’s, tenant’s, customer’s, or client’s] preferred name, pronoun and title (e.g., Ms./Mrs.) regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth, anatomy, gender, medical history, appearance, or the sex indicated on the individual’s identification.

Most individuals and many transgender people use female or male pronouns and titles. Some transgender and gender non-conforming people prefer to use pronouns other than he/him/his or she/her/hers, such as they/them/theirs or ze/hir. [Footnote: Ze and hir are popular gender-free pronouns preferred by some transgender and/or gender non-conforming individuals.] …

It would make more sense to be really PC, and adopt Arabic pronouns. Then again, Akkadian (the extinct Semitic language of Ancient Iraq) has common plurals. They might be useful.
