And I thought it was all Jaltus fault?
And it was Turkel's(
) fault I ended up on TWeb too. My uncle lent me his copy of the Impossible Faith along with a bunch of other books, such as the Mormon Defender, and from there I got wind of of tektonics.org, which then led me to TheologyWeb.

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

Stupid big-headed Turkel and his gallstones brought me here too.

"I hate Manwe's posts because I hate babies and America." --Augustine2004, August 6, 2011
Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

So I wonder if theologyweb pays JP a commission for bringing us all here, or charges him a fine?

Re: Ten Years of Tekton
In many ways, I feel somewhat indebted to the Tektonics Ministry. The combined arguments of JPH effectively disabled any objections I once had towards Christianity
And I ran into it in a most peculiar fashion. October 2007 When my beliefs in Christianity were wavering, At the time I was checking out the arguments of Creation Ministries, and one individual that constantly kept standing out was JPH (His aggressive and satirical demanour was unlike anything I had ever seen before), so I thought "If this ministry trusts this guy, then he must be worth something, gonna check him out". The fact that he tackled matters in ways I had never seen before, and offering arguments unlike any other Christian Apologist (The radical, yet sound proposal of the Impossible Faith Thesis for example). Glenn Beck was also a major influence as well, a HUGE heavyweight in apologetics, complementing each other effectively. The way JPH did not shy away from a challenge (within his field of course), got me thinking "Maybe the Christian beliefs merely not just worth believing, but worth fighting and protecting". By the end of 2007, my beliefs were back within the Christian orthodoxy, and have not stopped defending it ever since . It delights me that the Christian tradition I hold is virtually the same identical one found in 1st Century AD (Thanks to Tekton's thesis in comprehending Christianity back in it's original ancient terms), and even pride myself in it, in a manner of speaking.
Thank you again JP. Your hard work and dedication to the Church and ultimately God, you at least brought this lost soul back into the fold of Truth. To see this ministry die out is a horrendous thought. It is within my hope that one day I will be able to support financially this ministry, they are worthy of it.

Re: Ten Years of Tekton
I discovered Christian Think Tank and Tekton at the same time, I found them while looking for materials to respond to someone about the historicity of Easter, I lurked around here for a couple of years reading old debates and discussions before signing up, have found Tekton and this site to be extremely useful and encouraging, I occasionally get the opportunity to present some of the stuff I've learned here and there in my church (in Czech), including a lot of things I doubt they would have heard about otherwise, so you've been a real blessing in that, thank you.

This is precisely why I tell people that it is foolish to demand that I become some kissy kissy apologist who never says a word that offends some tight-pants somewhere. People who says such things have no respect for others who think differently than they do and need different kinds of encouragement.
I don't think I need to name names, but I imagine you'd be tagged a spawn of Satan by a certain we know who who would see this.

This is perhaps the greatest typo I've ever had the pleasure of stumbling upon.
EDIT:
And I agree with Andius' comments about your humor, JP. I remember, for example, a line from an old Tekton article about Michael Shermer - something like: "If Shermer ever participated in a scholarly debate with the likes of us at Tekton, he'd end up on the business end of a steam roller."Last edited by Benson Shays; October 23rd 2011 at 07:27 PM.
CS Lewis, Mere ChristianityThere is no need to be worried by facetious people who try to make the Christian hope of 'Heaven' ridiculous by saying they do not want 'to spend eternity playing harps'. The answer to such people is that if they cannot understand books written for grown-ups, they should not talk about them.
Check out the blog: Per theologyWeb's overlords, I am required to warn you of profanity in some of the comment threads on my blog.

Much agreed. Personally, I had considered you almost like a rapper in a rap battle. I think you once mentioned that you involved yourself a bit in a game of dozens or something like that.
Hah, if said person were in front of me, id grab my car stereo, plug in a track called "Tango del Pecado" (The Tango of Sin) by Reggeaton artists Calle 13, just to see if I can make her vein pop for my own amusement.
And hopefully the last, heh. No more typos for you! :PThis is perhaps the greatest typo I've ever had the pleasure of stumbling upon.
