The absolute preponderance of evidence against what you claim is so overwhelming that the only conclusion that anyone who knows what they are talking about is that you have not bothered to even turn over one rock in your search for the truth. If you are a Christian all I can ascertain is you also have fallen away and are offended by the word of God. You seem to be ashamed of God’s word and speak against thinks you know not of, calling his pure words something other than what it is, which illustrate that you only believe in the strong delusion you deserve. You need oil in your vessel as does all your amen boys; but I expect you will continue your slumber and will find yourselves in a precarious position when your lamp dies out.
A couple of things maybe you might want to put your finger on what you can rightfully claim is the inspired, inerrant and infallible word of God, I expect you don’t have one, and will find yourself again ashamed not having rightfully divided the word of God! But of course you have taken your precocious position that God is a liar and you know the truth better than he, as does your amen boys. Next I don’t have to prove a thing to anyone who his not willing to basically not be ignorant of self evident substance ascribed by the word of God itself; besides, you were the one babbling your mouth off about ridiculous assumptions base on absurd conclusions of the precepts of men.
Finally, the King James Bible (the only Holy Bible) is not a translation in the prevalence you so blindly assert it is, rather it is the word of God, and God doesn’t need to translate it from your declared originals, rather because of the hardness of the heart of man he purified it seven time as silver is tried so are you if you would only believe. Unbelief is your hindrance as it has infected the people called by his name wherein you stand with modern day Christian cults (any so called group of believers who don’t use the King James only); you must be born again of an incorruptible word, otherwise it would have better that you had not know the way of salvation and then turn from it. God’s word has been around and finish since the beginning of time and has he promise he would turn it to us so we could be in one consent, yet some would not hear.
I don’t consider you a bad person but just a minion of those who use you like merchandise in this spiritual battle, I hope this encourages you to revaluate all you have been told and programmed to falsely believe. The paradigm is bigger than you understand and unbelief is keeping you in the full spectrum dominance that the subtilty of the serpent deceived Eve with.

Now on your question about translators; you don’t get it because your mind is caught in the course of this world, and are blind to understanding. The people who God had write down his words were translators, but that does make God’s word a translation in the prevalence that you would like to compare it too.
I hope that helps, but I feel like your contentious high minded attitude hinders you.

I was on the road when I answered so I didn't have time for more than letting him know he was a Screwball. But I suspect he's one of the Westboro crowd and that what you say would be above his head. He hasn't answered me again, either.

I'm surprised no-one nominated Linkara for an anti-screwball earlier in the month for the way he defeated the Entity (at the end of the pokemon review), by confronting it with the despair of succeeding in its plan to absorb every universe and become all of reality, since it would then have no purpose to its existence (implying that as a supremely selfish being, it was unable to rejoice or be satisfied in itself. Compare that with the joy God has in the perfectly loving, unselfish and generous community of the Trinity. Maybe Linkara didn't mean to imply that, but it's what I got out of it)

Very interesting fellow on YouTube today. He seems to think that the amount of "esoteric teachings" corresponds to the level of historicity in a particular Christian work.

I suspect that our Gospel teachings resembled Thomas' message in their original form. Probably Matthew and Mark were likewise originally in Aramaic. However, the "Gentile" Christians couldn't appreciate the esoteric teachings of Jesus.The translation of the Gospel manuscripts into Greek provided an ideal opportunity to redact Jesus' teachings so as to permit Gentiles to appreciate them, according to Hellenized culture.

Thomas' sayings appear "gibberish" to you, because you (like me) don't have an Essene master to guide. The sayings of Thomas are probably meant to be abstruse to the unitiated. They appear to be consistent with Essene or Gnostic teaching.
The incompleteness of esoteric teaching in the canonical Gospels blazes! In John's Gospel we have fragments of an amazing discourse about what it means to be "born again". But it fizzles out after just 13 verses! It deserves chapters!

"nearly all scholars say.." CHRISTIAN scholars, yes, who gain their livelihood selling Christian books! We don't know if tThomas' Gospel came after the canonicals. We know that the early church fathers, who were Romans or Greeks, repressed any writing not conforming to their own beliefs, which were shaped by their Genitle cultures. We know that Chistianity failed to convince the great majority of Jews. There, Paul was an abject failure! "Stiff-necked" Jews, I suppose?

the Chruch started systematic repression and massacres of "unbelievers" as soon as it was legalised in the 4th century, and so empowered to do so.
Augustine (I suppose you call him a saint!) massacred and burnt alive believers of a different brand of Christinity from his, Unfortunately, this has been a common ocurrence with people, who like you, believe that their church is superior to any other and under the blessing of the Paraclete.

I'm not quite as confident as you on the purity of our canonical Gospels. The fact that we have more NT manuscripts than other historical documents is due to the work of religious scribes, who poured over their writings day and night - it's the nature of religion - whereas there would be far less interest in copying secular, historical documents. Also, religion can be "propagandist" or manipulative in character.
