Specifically because it's not God of War, Clash of the Titans. or the more-ambivalent 300.
To be really specific, because it's very, very, very, VERY deliberately anti-atheist.
To be extremely specific, because it effortlessly addresses most theodicy arguments by putting humans in the place of the gods.
And it's "all men are immortals, but only the righteous are immortal and divine" is possibly the most theologically astute line I've ever heard from Hollywood.In reaction to Richwine Affair, all right-thinking people are quick to proclaim that they don’t believe in a genetic basis for IQ. They’re much less quick to explain – with any sort of precision – what they actually do believe in. At best, we’re treated to some hand-waving paired with the phrase “social construct.”.

Like I said, the most theologically astute movie coming out of HOLLYWOOD.Fixed that quote to make it more accurate
It's actually kind of sad that the best movies of this sort feel the need to go for a hard R rating. I have my suspicions...

EDIT: The preceding comic insinuated that the Jews run Hollywood. This is Mel Gibson-inspired crazy-talk. As Brett Ratner's Oscar firing shows, it's the gay Jews who now run Hollywood, and are therefore more likely to make open Christian-hating drivel like Harold and Kumar's 3D Christmas, rather than thoughtful, funny, non-preachy musings on contemporary culture like X-men 3 and the Rush Hour franchise. (PROTIP: Brett Ratner movies are one of the best tests for determining whether someone can lighten up about 'offensive' jokes; if someone calls him WORST DIRECTOR EVER, he stands a very good chance of being a liberal SWPL. I do look forward to the film. Definitely a film gonna designate for a "guys night out" deal. XD
I heard that it wasn't an impressive movie, but not that I am expecting anything intelligent though (although I am surprised about what you said Epo, it has only stirred my curiosity of the film), it's a good old fashioned butt-kicking movie. XD
