Screwball for this restaurant for accidentally serving bleach to two toddlers instead of water:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/horror-clea...092614709.htmlCrab Battle
noun
Words uttered to incite an all in brawl. Whoever says the words 'Crab Battle' will usually be spear tackled to the ground by anyone else present, and all parties will then engage in a fight to the death.
Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision. Existence taken for granted, absolute. Possessed, owned, controlled by the common sense-infected rational gaze, onward forever we walk among the ignorant. Never stray from the common lines.

There does seem to be quite a bit of hysteria and hair pulling over the last article. I rather liked this repsonse.
there's a real easy way to fight this horrible christian dictatorship and make it fare [sic] for followers of all religions!!!! DON'T COMMIT ANY CRIMES!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by moreta; December 4th 2011 at 01:22 AM.

Re: December 2011 Screwballs PLUS Platinum Category Discussi
Some preliminary points on the 2011 Platinums....having collected them up through November 2011 in one place.
Pickin's are slim in all categories except the At-Large and Skeptic Statement. Loftus has only two entries. So does Christian E-Mail. There is no At-Large email entry (again). Some categories have only one entry, and if no more emerge in December, there will be 5 default winners alone in their categories.
One category where I very much doubt we'll have a better entry is Famous Christian. I see no way Harold Camping can be beaten there for 2011. I'd place Geisler a distant second -- way distant -- at this point.
Ed Dingess will get a special award.
That's the story so far. We'll see how this month's entries change things, if at all.

Missing the point of the argument award
Note that CS Lewis' formulation is aimed at those who accept the Gospel accounts of Jesus' teachings but want to deny His divinity: 'He was a great moral teacher, no more than that'.
P1. Jesus claimed to be God
(assumed for sake of argument: The Gospels give a reasonably reliable account of what Jesus said and taught)
P2. He either was God or He wasn't God.
C1: He was God (LORD)
C2: He wasn't God
C2(a): He thought He was God (Lunatic)
C2 (b) He knew He was not God, but nevertheless claimed to be God (Liar)
Tassman's objection: Lewis left out 'Jesus was mistaken' shows that he hasn't grasped at all what the argument is saying. That is already covered in the argument by C2(a) 'Lunatic'.
Ehrmann's objection that Lewis omitted the possibility of 'Legend' misses the point of Lewis' argument. Sure, if you don't grant the assumed premise, you have to add a 4th option (Legend), but Lewis was never arguing the Trilemma to people who don't accept that Jesus existed.
Other objections that reject this as a bad argument for Christianity (because it leaves out all the options) IMHO miss Lewis' intention: He was aiming this at those who are 'culturally' christian, those who accept the Bible as reflecting Jesus' life, but don't want to accept all the implications of that. Lewis, I think, was too smart to think that this argument was a proof of Christianity from scratch.I'm not so think as you dumb I am...

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

"One develops a cool and ironic sense of bitter humor, as well as a bloated ego, and this personality characteristic is the defining trait of atheists ancient and modern. "Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded- here and there, now and then- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as “bad luck.”"
