Knowing Newt
Who knows Newt better than his family?
For a family perspective, see here.

Newt failed to properly register IN HIS HOME STATE.
I suppose we can't rely on a serial adulterer's character, or his dubious record as a conservative, but there's also his intelligence and organizational abilities to fall back on, amirite? emo-emot-smug.gif"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

I can't vote for Newt -- his current wife wears a hair helmet.

and yet in the paragraph above:
Why would she have to ask her mother about something she herself was present for?Last edited by Pilgrim; January 4th 2012 at 08:49 PM.
"Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Now, please pass me my super sized, bacon double cheeseburger, combo meal..."

My most recent faith struggle is not one of intellect. I don't really do that anymore. Sooner or later you just figure out there are some guys who don't believe in God and they can prove He doesn't exist, and some other guys who can prove He does exist, and the argument stopped being about God a long time ago and now it's about who is smarter, and honestly, I don't care. ~ Don Miller Blue Like Jazz

Oh, and this little gem, too:
Uh, that would be "marriages" in the plural. The issue for some is that it seems to be a pattern.Last edited by Pilgrim; January 4th 2012 at 08:50 PM.

Re: Knowing Newt
Because serial adultery is much better than living a lie, amirite? Whatever his faults, Newt has committed no sins that aren't fully approved by mainstream feminist society.
With Newt, it's very much WYSIWYG. With Obama...but hey, the Republicans didn't go after his association with Jeremiah Wright, they didn't pursue the birth certificate issue despite obvious inconsistencies, so expecting them to make political hay out of the fact that he spent lots of time in Chicago's not-so-finest bathhouses with Rahm Emanuel is perhaps too much to hope for. If you're going to countenance the Log Cabin Republicans, at least get some use out of them beyond ruining the culture. In reaction to Richwine Affair, all right-thinking people are quick to proclaim that they don’t believe in a genetic basis for IQ. They’re much less quick to explain – with any sort of precision – what they actually do believe in. At best, we’re treated to some hand-waving paired with the phrase “social construct.”.
