Male - ChristianX-Com: UFO Defence - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?
On a whim, I downloaded the game that's been sitting in my Steam Library for awhile....not really expecting much of anything....
But damn.
It's game design puts modern games to shame.

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

After getting my interception landing party slaughtered about 2-3 times, I think I got a handle on the RTS aspect of the game. PRO-TIP: soldiers out in the open = dead soldiers

I'll have you know, I bought this game just because you put this thread up (and also because I've been meaning to buy X-Com for a good while now). It'd better be good, or I'm going to...well, probably not react too strongly, but whatever.

The Steam version at least has no tutorial and there's no in-game help at all, so be prepared for a lot of trial and error.

Re: X-Com: UFO Defence - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?
One of my first and favorite games. I still hear original X-Com sound effects that have been snitched and used in movies and other games. Anyone remember the early version called "Laser Defense"? I keep wondering why XCom hasn't been ported to Android yet.
