Because my personal situation was again used earlier to imply that I am asking to raise the minimum wage - for the second or third time, I have never called for a raising of the minimum wage. I have never worked full time at federal minimum wage and I understand the economic cases against such a wage, which are exacerberated by out of control automation. Please do not attribute motivations to me that do not exist."I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

The employers have to either cut down on employees, or their hours to remain profitable, or raise their prices to make up the difference. The consumer either ends up with an inferior product or a very expensive product. The employee either ends up making near the same or less because of hours being cut, or finding out he is now in an economy where everything is more expensive and his buying power still remains the same as before.

Why The $15 Minimum Wage Will Cost California 400,000 Jobs
In the new year, less-skilled workers across California will face an old, familiar threat to their employment: A soaring minimum wage.
In 2016, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill that put the state minimum wage on track to reach $15 per hour by 2022. The next increase—from $10.50 to $11.00—is scheduled for Jan. 1, 2018. If you're a business in one of thirteen different California localities--from Mountain View to Milpitas, and from San Jose to Santa Clara--the required wage floor will rise even higher.
When he signed $15 into law, Gov. Brown seemed to understand that the increase was a bad idea, acknowledging that "economically, minimum wages make not make sense." Today, California's good intentions are catching up with it.
The warning signs started early; dozens of stories chronicled businesses closing, cutting staff, or leaving the state. A rash of restaurant closures in the Bay Area led one food-industry publication to describe it as a "death march." Even child-care providers were hurt. (Some of the closures are featured in the video below.) A team of economists at Harvard Business School and Mathematica Policy Research determined that the rising minimum wage in the Bay Area contributed to these closures.
This, as opposed to companies voluntarily increasing wages due to incentives in the new Tax Plan. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Wage increases...
- AT&T said it will give $1,000 bonuses to "more than 200,000 AT&T U.S. employees" and fulfill a $1 billion capital investment pledge as soon as the bill becomes law.
- Fifth-Third Bancorp told Axios' Dan Primack that it will raise the minimum wage of its workforce to $15 per hour. It said 3,000 of its employees currently make less than $15 per hour. When asked why, given the $1.5 billion it made last year in profit, they had no comment.
- Wells Fargo will reportedly increase its minimum wage to $15 an hour. The San Francisco-based bank also plans to allocate $400 million in donations to community and nonprofit organizations in 2018.
Again, not because somebody held a gun to their heads, or "legislated", but because they were incentivized by Trump's tax reform. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

ATT is a huge company that's constantly changing. I hated DirecTV, so I switched to ATT, and lo and behold, ATT bought DirecTV.
Here's some more news....
AT&T t says it plans to cut about 4,600 jobs, or 1.5% of its workforce, to shift resources to growing parts of its business.
The nation's largest telecommunications provider said most of the layoffs will be among managers.
AT&T said the job cuts — affecting its wireline telephone business mostly in the United States in "non-customer-facing areas" — are part of its efforts to streamline the company.
The job cuts, which are on top of a three-year plan to cut 10,000 jobs announced at the end of last year, come as it faces declining traditional phone sales and rising costs for deploying new, high-speed Internet and video services.
"Even with the reductions announced today, we expect our head count overall to remain stable this year as we hire additional employees to support growth areas like wireless and TV," said spokesman Michael Coe.
