Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
Life for Living from the Psalms: Psalm 112:6-9...
Shalom!
Yesterday Psalm 18 talked about having the surefootedness of a mountain goat today Psalm 112 takes us inside for a surefooted look at what happens inside you after God has prepared you for battle. “Such a man will not be overthrown by evil circumstances. God’s constant care of him will make a deep impression on all who see it. He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him. That is why he is not afraid but can calmly face his foes. He gives generously to those in need. His deeds will never be forgotten. He shall have influence and honor.” (Psalm 112:6–9, The Living Bible)
If I were asked what one thing I discovered about God that has made a lasting impression on my spiritual development it would be that God begins his work in us from the inside and works outward. The work of Psalm 112:6-9 begins deep in our heart/spirit where we first come to know and experience God’s unconditional Love. And when God’s unconditional Love becomes implanted deep inside us it germinates into Faith, Hope, and Peace.
Psalm 112:6-9 is one of the most comprehensive descriptions of the Peace of Jesus made available to us. Every sentence rings and sings of experiencing life not on its terms but on God’s terms. Not only is it a comprehensive description of Jesus’ Peace it is also turns Faith when exercised into Hope. And Hope becomes Light on our Pathway to God and eventual eternal life. Divine Hope is not believing in the unknown but believing in the unseen reality. If you are not sure of what “the unseen reality” is you can believe in this: ”...and be sure of this—that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”” (Matthew 28:20, The Living Bible)
Psalm 112:6-9 is God’s Gift and Blessing for YOU read it slowly one more time and take ownership of it! “Such a man/woman will not be overthrown by evil circumstances. God’s constant care of him/her will make a deep impression on all who see it. He/she does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he/she is settled in his/her mind that Jehovah will take care of him/her. That is why he/she is not afraid but can calmly face his/her foes. He/she gives generously to those in need. His/her deeds will never be forgotten. He/she shall have influence and honor.” (Psalm 112:6–9, The Living Bible, modified by me)
Do not wait for another day to dawn IT HAS DAWNED, Live it with the Gifts and Blessings God is giving YOU!
“May the Lord of peace himself give you his peace no matter what happens. The Lord be with you all.”**
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
