Game Thread: Bringing Down the House

Calvin asks the people around him, "When do you think we'll get another set of evaluations?"

"At the Academy of Heroics, we were evaluated all the time. Both during a simulation and right after it as well. But those evalulations are a cake walk compared to evaluations by the press. I hope the Tritock evaluations are like the Academy ones.

<slurp> Mmm, they make a great strawberry-banana shake." opinions Viscid.

Card Shark suddenly appears from behind the kitchen door cleaning a glass with the apron worn over her usual attire. After surveying the three heroes in front her of, she says dryly, "Well... they really DO bring all the boys to the yard. But seriously, what's this talk I hear about evaluations?"

[Thersites]

"When I was at the University, I had to write grant proposal after grant proposal to get funding for projects, and afterwards, I'd have to write up summaries. It was annoying at first, but it made it easier for me to find the flaws in my thinking and get closer to the results I wanted."

He scratches at his temples and his hair rustles slightly. "I think the same principle applies here, more or less."

[Meta Knight]

"I don't know about any evaluations. I just want me a frozen dairy treat."

[Thersites]

Calvin sighs and his hair stirs slightly. "Alright. What does the house recommend?"

[Chaotic Void]

Card Shark looks at you. "Eh, not really. I'll explain after I get your drinks. The house recommends the old fashioned Banana-Strawberry, by the way."

After she gets the milkshakes and hands them to everyone, she takes a huge sip of hers and goes on. "Long story short, that may be how things work in scienceville, but not in the world of super-heroics. Really, once you find yourself in this business, you're usually here till you're either dead or retired... assuming retirement is even an option." She makes a slashing motion across her throat with a playing card that appears in her hand. "That's not to say we won't be keeping tabs on your successes and failures, but unless things get hairy- no pun intended-" she looks at Calvin, "you won't have to stand in front of an inquisition board anytime soon."

Calvin frowns and pauses before he tries the milkshake. "I don't know if I'm cut out for this."

"It is okay, Calvin. I'm sure Card Shark can make you a shake without lactaid." says Viscid with a concerned look on his face.

Forgàs returns home for the night. A nice, long, hot shower seems well deserved.

The gambling gal looks gives you a confused look and says, "What makes you say that? Far as I can tell, you're holding your own with these other bums."

As you get out of the shower and change into your pajamas, you hear someone open your door. "Like, how was your first day, sis?" Someone with a higher voice appears to be mimicking the way you speak. You turn around to confirm your suspicions... Yep, it's your little sister.

The gambling gal looks gives you a confused look and says, "What makes you say that? Far as I can tell, you're holding your own with these other bums."

"It's not about fighting ability. I may not be physically imposing, but if I needed to, I could probably come up with any number of ways to contribute to a fight." He removes his wrist-mounted ray gun and sets it on the table. His hair rustles about as he pauses for several seconds.

"I..." He stops himself.

"This isn't a subject to discuss over milkshakes." He forces a weak smile and takes a drink.

"Suit Yourself, Princess." She takes her straw out of the milkshake and gulps the remains down. "Anyone else got anything remotely interesting to yak about?"
