Re: Dinosaurs
Your belief in it is your prerogative. If you're convinced of the evidence, then cool. I was refuting the argument you use to support that belief. A conspiracy theory in this case is just an exaggeration you use to discredit the argument that it's not true or discredit those who believe it's not true. Evolution doesn't have to constitute a conscious and calculated conspiracy theory, anymore than you believe non-Christian belief is a conscious and calculated conspiracy theory against Christianity.

Re: Dinosaurs
I’ll answer this with a question. Why do 5 billion people in the world believe Christianity is not true if it is? How can so many billions of people, both intelligent and not so intelligent, be so wrong all at once? Why do people believe so many different things that often conflict, whether it’s religion, politics, geopolitics, the economy, etc., and will argue vehemently that what they believe is correct and supported by facts? Why do intelligent, reasonable and sane liberals and conservatives believe so many things that are starkly different and many times conflict, and have believed these things for many decades? Both sides can’t be right about everything they disagree with. Why did so many scientists believe (and still believe) we were the cause of global warming and if we didn’t change this, we were doomed within a decade because of this? Why does this happen on a collective basis with so many people (groups of people)? Is it a conspiracy theory? Or is it that we, as human beings, have natural urges to believe what we want to believe and will not only find others to affirm those beliefs but will find anything to support that belief, whether they’re actual facts or things we interpret as facts and want to believe as facts. It’s not necessary to suppose that people, in these types of situations that involve many others, are consciously conspiring this. It’s called confirmation bias and it’s a phenomenon that we see abundantly in human nature, including very intelligent and educated people. To call it a conspiracy is reductio ad absurdum and is typically used to discredit those questioning authority or the official consensus, or even the majority view, by making something sound impossible when it doesn't have to be impossible.

Re: Dinosaurs
Have you ever considered that people can be biased against this idea, simple because its the majority view?
