An Alabama legislator supports low teacher pay. Fair enough, I guess. But what earns him a screwball is his attempt to claim that low teacher pay follows biblical principles (without citing a verse, of course):

Apophenia again for still not making sense.

      "I hate Manwe's posts because I hate babies and America." --Augustine2004, August 6, 2011

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'

'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

Add America's religious heritage to the things Hector Avalos is wrong about.

Perhaps the most famous denial appears in the eleventh clause of the Treaty of Tripoli (1797), which begins as follows: “As the government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion …” So, how could President John Adams, who signed it, and the Senate, which ratified it, even accept such language if everyone agreed that we were a Christian nation?
He never defines terms, selectively quotes sources and replaces analysis with rhetorical questions. Pathetic.
There is no need to be worried by facetious people who try to make the Christian hope of 'Heaven' ridiculous by saying they do not want 'to spend eternity playing harps'. The answer to such people is that if they cannot understand books written for grown-ups, they should not talk about them.

That is actually from a prophecy website that I reached because someone on Facebook posted a link to it. So it's not the Facebooker who gets the screwball but the alleged prophet who owns the website.

Actually, you have to be quite the screwball to believe in a website like that.

Yikes, Cursin' Hurtin' Curt has a blog, this could be deadly: http://curtishealy.wordpress.com/

Haven't seen him post anything whacky on Facebook lately, but I have of course heard of him getting into heated, verbally abusive arguments (with him doing the verbal abuse of course).

The Pixie really seems to want that 2012 T web Vet Platinum Screwball Award because he's posting things like this:

The idea here is that Jesus came back to life as a purely natural process. Ridiculous! you say. Maybe not. Look at this article about a jelly fish that can come back to life:
      http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...ish-swarm.html

But when starvation, physical damage, or other crises arise, "instead of sure death, [Turritopsis] transforms all of its existing cells into a younger state," said study author Maria Pia Miglietta, a researcher at Pennsylvania State University.

The jellyfish turns itself into a bloblike cyst, which then develops into a polyp colony, essentially the first stage in jellyfish life.

If a mere jellyfish can do it, surely a man can too, albeit in very unusual circumstances. Thus, is it possible that, like the jellyfish Jesus came back to life via a natural process?
Never mind the fact that Jesus' heart was punctured (among many other things), Jelly fish have a far simpler body, that likewise, there is no evidence of this happening to a human, doesn’t matter, it supports his doubts so it has to be accepted!

LPoT, I'd just run with it. Ask him if now that he knows it's a natural process, if he'll be converting soon. Maybe send him a list of nearby churches you can recommend.

"Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded- here and there, now and then- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as “bad luck.”"

He is actually just trying to mock Mountain Man because MM said that Jesus resurrecting could be an unknown natural process and mentioned how jelly fish can regenerate, purely as an example. So now pixie is mocking MM with that thread as far as I can tell, by taking it completely literally.

So my suspicion, that The Pixie is a literalist fundy, is true?
