Mel Gibson offering advance tickets for "the Passion"
'Passion' tickets on sale
- Mel Gibson's Icon Productions is offering advance purchase tickets for screenings of "The Passion of the Christ" – a movie that has stirred passions and controversy long before its release Feb. 25.
A toll-free number – 1-800-353-6102 – has been set up for the purchases.
While the movie has been criticized by some for concerns over anti-Semitism, it has also generated great interest in the Christian community. Several Christian groups are promoting the advance tickets because they believe demand will result in an increase in the number of theaters carrying the movie.

Hmm. Is that so?

Methinks I'm going to have to call this number....If there is anything I’ve learned from both conservatives and liberals, it’s that we can have all the “right” answers and still be mean. And when you’re mean, it’s hard for people to listen to, much less desire, your truth.

Exclusive Interview With Father Di Noia
Here's a must-read article and an interview:
http://www.zenit.org/english/visualizza.phtml?sid=45863
"There is no possibility of neutrality here, and no one can remain simply an onlooker in these events."She stood near the Crucified, suffering deeply with her Firstborn; with a motherly heart she associated herself with his Sacrifice; with love she consented to his immolation: she offered him and she offered herself to the Father. Every Eucharist is a memorial of that Sacrifice and that Passover that restored life to the world; every Mass puts us in intimate communion with her, the Mother, whose sacrifice "becomes present" just as the Sacrifice of her Son "becomes present" at the words of consecration of the bread and wine pronounced by the priest. (JP2)
Mary suffered and, as it were, nearly died with her suffering Son; for the salvation of mankind she renounced her mother's rights and, as far as it depended on her, offered her Son to placate divine justice; so we may well say that she with Christ redeemed mankind. (Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia)

Dude, I am soooo stoked to see this film! If I could get those sneak preview tickets I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I called the number. They're selling tickets at a premium for no particular theater, since they don't know which theaters are going to carry the film yet. It's more like a voucher that you bring to your theater. I can't see how this can guarantee you a seat at your local theater if you show up on a night the show is sold out. I tried to get better information, but the woman I spoke with didn't know much. She just said all the theaters WILL sell out immediately and this is a good way to make sure you get to see the film. I'm not buying into that yet. I'm waiting for it to be released. There's so much publicity, I cannot imagine the film won't enjoy a long run.
