Lazarus: An Add-on to Prevent Losing Your Post

I often hear people on this forum lament over the fact that a large reply they typed onto the forum has been lost before it was posted because of log-in timeouts or because their cats stepped on their keyboard, or whatever...

Well lament no longer. I've been using a browser add-on for a couple years now that should help a lot of folks out who've lost their online text. And it works pretty much everywhere online, so its not just limited to forums.

Its called Lazarus: Form Recovery, and its currently available for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. You can find the add-on in the official add-on sections of each browser or you can find it hear at the developer's webpage http://lazarus.interclue.com/download

This sucker has saved me a number of times now, even after a complete computer reboot. Basically how it works is as you type, your form is auto-saved every few seconds. In one of the corners, or at the end of your post or letter (or whatever you're typing in) you'll see a little yellowish translucent ankh symbol. If you click on the ankh you'll see a short description of a number of saved episodes. If you hover your mouse over one of the saved episodes, the form you're typing in will show you your previous writing. The previous writing won't actually go into the form unless you click on it.

I hope this helps a few people out. Like I said, its been a real lifesaver for me.

Hmmm. Thought this was about a zombie thread. Good idea there Adrift. Um, consider this a bump. Yeah. A bump. That's it.

      Yay, A bump!

Yeah, I wasn't really sure what to title the thread so I can see how it could be confusing. Hopefully others see this though. Should help a lot of people.

Adrift, on your description and recommendation I installed it. Am looking forward to its help.
"Christianity," says Bishop Wilson, "inscribes on the portal of her dominion 'Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall in nowise enter therein.' Christianity does not profess to convince the perverse and headstrong, to bring irresistible evidence to the daring and profane, to vanquish the proud scorner, and afford evidences from which the careless and perverse cannot possibly escape. This might go to destroy man's responsibility. All that Christianity professes, is to propose such evidences as may satisfy the meek, the tractable, the candid, the serious inquirer." http://www.woundedheart.org/sgtestimony.htm

Awesome. I hope you won't need it, but it comes in handy when you do.
