If you live in the UK please sign the petition for the preservation of traditional marriage at the link below (however if you don't live in the UK please promote this to your UK friends). The government is having a consultation on this in March 2012 and it could redefine marriage for everyone in the UK.

This campaign by the newly formed Coalition for Marriage aims to get the government to sit up and listen to people who still believe that marriage is for one man and one woman. The petition only started on Monday 20th February 2012 and over 35,000 people have signed it already (as of 24th Feb)! Very easy to sign. Just requires your name, an email, and your post code (however you must be over 16 years of age and be a UK resident).

While we still have some freedom of speech and religion in the UK we should act before marriage is redefined even further (even now some are talking about redefining it to include polygamy). This is not about denying same sex couples rights or equality as civil-partnerships have all the legal rights of heterosexuals. Rather, it is about the protection of traditional marriage from being utterly redefined. Please promote this petition on your Facebook, Twitter, blog, website etc. You can also download a paper copy where you can print up and take into your church. Go here to sign the petition:
