A Glory Seed Devotional
Daily manna from the Psalms…
“Some of you were lost in the scorching desert, far from a town. You were hungry and thirsty and about to give up. You were in serious trouble, but you prayed to the LORD, and he rescued you. Right away he brought you to a town. You should praise the LORD for his love and for the wonderful things he does for all of us. To everyone who is thirsty, he gives something to drink; to everyone who is hungry, he gives good things to eat.” (Psalms 107:4-9 CEV)
Been there! Not because God or anyone chased me away but because thinking myself to be an expert at my life I wandered away. Boy was that ever a big mistake! But then there are times when experience is the best teacher.
Experienced that! It was not long before I discovered I was not the expert on life I thought I was. And I found myself in the brotherhood of the Prodigal’s, I found myself wallowing in self-pity eating a diet of junk food.
Done that! After discovering how impoverished I really was the gravity of self-pity and junk food pulled me to my knees and I no sooner got out the words, “Father, I am in serious trouble,” when I saw the lights of the kingdom and with the strength of the Spirit I inched my way toward the light.
However, there are times when we find ourselves lost not by choice but because of circumstances beyond our control. “To everyone who is thirsty, he gives something to drink; to everyone who is hungry, he gives good things to eat.” I am sure you know drinking and eating are daily activities. Do you know of anyone by their own choice drinks and eats only once a month? Do you remember my good friend, James Lee you met yesterday? Because of circumstances beyond his control, he hungers for the Living Water of the Spirit and the Bread that comes down from Heaven!
Out of his great need God will not only meet James Lee in the dark valley he now walks but will feed him the Living Water and the Bread as together they make their way to the other side.
Are you lost? Did you wander off on your own accord? Are you thirsty? Are you thirsty for the Living Water of the Spirit? Are you hungry? Are you hungry for the Bread that comes down from Heaven?
Help is only a prayer away, and don’t forget prayer goes beyond words spoken to a soul presented.
======================================
“I look to the hills! Where will I find help? It will come from the LORD, who created the heavens and the earth. The LORD is your protector, and he won't go to sleep or let you stumble.” (Psalms 121:1-3 CEV)
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
