      Contradiction

      In this thread:
"Although it is the argument of many amateur apologists and ignorant Christians that the OT "predicts" Jesus' coming in passages like Is. 53, the reality is that very, very little of the OT should be understood as predictive messianic prophecy in that sense."
      In Tektons:
      http://www.tektonics.org/qt/sigalg01.html
Isaiah 53 is often pointed to as a section fulfilled by Jesus in his life and death, and it is one of the strongest fulfillments of Messianic prophecy available...

I asked "please prove Jesus is the Messiah."

Acts has the apostles using three lines of proof: Jesus' miracles, his enactment of OT texts, and the Resurrection. Today the latter is the main focus. You can look more into that when you read Licona's book.
      Jesus' Miracles

      1. Prove that Jesus' miracles are historical;
      2. Prove that Jesus can only fulfill those miracles if he was the Messiah; and
      3. It doesn't prove anything! False prophets can perform miracles!

      Enactment of OT texts

      1. Where?

      Resurrection

      1. Proof please?

      Not necessarily predictive.

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

I'm sure you'd have just as much difficulty (ie, none) explaining any current contradictions with beliefs you held when you were 7.

I asked "please prove Jesus is the Messiah."
And I told you to read...it's time for you to do that, please. Again, the idea here is that you need to learn just how little you actually know, and how little fundamentalism (and Messiah Truth) actually taught you. That will not be accomplished here in forum posts with word counts, which will only encourage you to think a simple answer is all that is needed.

Licona wrote a whole book on the Resurrection. So did I. So your choice is to go read, or I'll simply link you to dozens of articles to read.

*facepalm*. You answered my question as to why you believed JEsus is Messiah and I refuted them by saying they were inconclusive.

That's why you need to read the books JPH listed before debating him, so that you're on the same level of knowledge. Of course you're going to think you've "refuted" him when you still reason like a fundie.

So, read the books he listed, and then if you still have points to bring up, you can come here and debate/discuss them with him.

Chrawnus is correct again. You did not refute anything because I have argued nothing more in the first place. Rather, I told you where to go to FIND the answers which I would give.

      Do so.

Hey JP are you familiar with the Messianic Jewish scholar Dr. Michael Brown? If so, would you categorize him and his methodology as "fundamentalist"?

Moreover, SOA, why would anyone want to sit for an hour and a half watching that? We READ here. No one here at TWeb will waste time watching that, especially when there are credible scholars with doctoral credentials with far more depth.

When do you plan to get started reading, please?

Also, I'm waiting for my list of 10 books...are you still working on that? I'd like to start placing some orders, so if you even have a few, set them out here.

I know of him by name but have never read his books. There are reviews of his books on Tekton but they are written by guests, not by me.
