A Glory Seed Devotional
Daily manna from the Psalms…

“LORD, how long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me?” (Psalms 13:1-2 HCSB) Do those 40 words sound familiar? Do you hear yourself asking them right now?

One of things I love about David was his honesty and his vulnerability. It is because of his honesty and vulnerability that the flame of hope never completely goes out. When I pray the Psalms with my imagination see David joining me where I am in my walk in life me and I can hear him encouraging to follow him.

I am not completely sure why there are times when God seems so far away perhaps it is out of guilt, out of a lack of faith, out of a lack of trust but whatever the reason God ALWAYS sends someone to help me sometimes they come from the scriptures other times from someone else, perhaps even you.

To answer the 2 questions I posed above I say, “Yes” and “Yes”. As I write these words just beyond the horizon is a loving God waiting to bless me in ways I cannot understand. But just like we are unable to see beyond the curvature of the earth I cannot see God and those richer blessings he has in store for me so this morning he sent the Psalmist to help me keeping moving on through my difficulties.

In my imagination, I can hear David testifying when he walked as I walk, “But I have trusted in Your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. I will sing to the LORD because He has treated me generously.” (Psalms 13:5-6 HCSB)

Because David’s words are time tested I know the day will come when I will receive the rich blessings God is storing up for me but until then because David’s words are time tested I trust in his testimony and I have faith in the God who sent him to me.

By the way those rich blessings I have yet to receive – living in God’s presence. But wait a minute! I am living in God’s presence now so what are the times when he seems so far away? Perhaps it may have something to do with deepening my faith and trust in him. Or perhaps it may have something to do with helping you.

======================================
“I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.” (Psalms 121:1-3 HCSB)

Grace and PEACE,
Gary
