Because there's a difference in various aspects of "believing" -- "believing in" and "believing on". I believe that Smith existed.

That was the whole point IN CONTEXT of the Scripture from whence that comethed. It goes to the discussion of "faith without works is dead", which, taken OUT of context, leads to teachings such as "after all you can do".

A topic for a new thread. I started this thread to deal with the topic of discussing valid tests of one's faith and/or beliefs. I would like to stay on topic. If you or CP would like to start up your own thread, I will contribute to it.

The way I see it, when I'm posting online I'm doing so as one who is representing the LDS community. As a member of the LDS church I know what is expected of me in terms of my personal conduct, and try to behave accordingly. I believe in setting a good example, respecting people of other faiths and exchanging good wholesome thoughts, views and ideas.

I am also trying to conduct myself in a manner that is pleasing unto the Lord.

This is of course my views and opinions, other folks may feel aggressive tactics are required :)
