Re: cujo006's Rebuttal to JP Holding Re: Jephthah

Cujo hasn't been here for a week, so I'll check less frequency. I'd better get going on my Sunday school prep! I'm doing a cultural context teasure on ritual purity at the end of May, and my tenative outline for later in the year is
      1. Intro: honor-shame and cultural difference
      2. Honor-shame cont, limited good
      3. Ethnic identity and politics
      4. Patronage, metaphors for God, what does it mean to honor God?
      5. Political economics: the temple
      6. Recap weeks 1-5, workshop on the Markan temple visit*
      7. Breather: apologetics, Elisha and bears, misc topics
      8. Family values and the people of God
      9. "So what?" reflecting on socio-cultural exegesis and the Church
      10. "So what?" part 2

I'll try to record the classes when I give them.

Any chance I can host them on TektonTV?

      http://www.tektoonics.com

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'

'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

I've always liked you, OBP, but I never knew you had such a grasp over Canadian current affairs! I'm so impressed. We still do that and it's a bonding point for our political parties.

I think that saying and others like it promote more posturing than encourage real dialogue.

:that: When the conversation has gone that route, it's best to figuratively shake the dust off one's sandals and move on IMO.

I don't disagree, but "real dialogue" isn't even an option for a looooooooooooooooot of "discussions" with Skeptics.

"Popularity" had nothing to do with it. I doubt Tekton occupied such a position (1-2 most popular) at the time or does even now. Strobel found the site because of my response to Doherty on behalf of one of his books.
Well, that's one line he may have read. Who knows how much is digested by assistants?

It's still not likely Strobel would endorse your insult theology. Neither would Hanegraaf. Heck, neither would you -- none of your outside articles or personal appearances mention it.

Your effort to tar JPH knows no bounds, does it? Have you actually read all of his outside articles, or are you just assuming and hoping no one calls you on it? I've attended personal appearances of JPH twice - and yes, he's mentioned challenge-riposte.
