Why do some women dress so sexually provocitavely . . .
I'm starting this OP at the inspiration of another OP in the Fraternity.
http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/sh...55#post3385355
The question I am interested in is "Why do some women seem to dress so sexually provocatively?" According to the post above this seems to be on the increase.
I have not noticed this as I "hang" in Sun City, Az, where the average age is 'bout 55yo. As far as TV and movies go, I almost never watch TV and movies that feature tight bottoms and full bosoms get short rift with me.
I'm particularly interested in responses from women, as any speculation from a man as to why this seems to be so, if it is so is essentially worthless speculation.
So okay esteemed and beloved women members of TWeb, how about it.
Why do women dress sexually provocative in your opinion. And if ya have the guts, why do you choose to dress in a provocative manner if you ever do?
I will post a pool FOR WOMEN ONLY but not right now.
These are the questions I propose:
Why do women dress sexually provocatively:
1) get noticed by men
2) feel good about themselves
3) thinks it looks good
4) its the current fashion
Any other ideas?

"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

The Character of the Seductively Dressed: Inspiring Attention & Lust or Just Plain Naive?
Intriguing question you pose (so to speak).
One possible answer? To garner attention from (1) women and (2) men alike.
(1) To garner attention from other females in order to inspire envy and/or approval from them or even lust* (supposing the seductively dressed one is [or perceives** herself to be] very attractive). (2) As it pertains to the opposite sex, to inspire lust, desire or sexual frustration in males.
In short, we are speaking, biblically, of vanity. It is a vain, ungodly woman who possesses these kind of perverse motivations either for attention seeking. If a particular individual is characterized by such motivations and behaviors, we are likely dealing with someone in possession of a histrionic, narcissistic type of "personality disorder". Also, it is a way of gaining power over others, a way of asserting oneself. Perhaps it is a new and stunning revelation to some, but some women like to subdue and dominate men sexually. This is but one way. At the root of it all is human pride. Generally speaking, the seductively dressed woman is proud and vain, seeking the approval or attention of man (rather than walking in the fear of the Lord).
It may be in some cases there are females who are entirely oblivious or unaware of the effect their inappropriate style of dress has on others, so we may retain an element of charity in our assessment. But neither let us be naive: We have every reason to suppose there are numerous females with ill, narcissistic and attention seeking motivations who know precisely what they are doing. Scripturally we (men especially) are exhorted to flee these kind of treacherous females. Let's not miss this: A woman's style of dress reveals something of her character. But thank the Lord there are some godly women out there who are not like the kind we've been evaluating in this post (even if they are few and far between, there still are some).
* We are not discounting the pervasiveness of homosexual or bisexual tendencies present in many.
** With human sin and pride along with the ill effects of the inflated "self-esteem movement" as a cure-all for the dreaded human condition, of course the perception of some pertaining to their physical attractiveness can be dreadfully skewed.Last edited by The Remonstrant; June 17th 2012 at 10:17 AM.

My girlfriend dresses "provocatively" but its because she likes the style of the things she buys and finds them comfortable, that's all
