Regarding all the KUDOS in this thread for "useful posts". Is all this idle chit chat really that useful? I'm just wondering. It seems rather odd to me to be giving kudos for idle chit chat. But maybe that's just a sign that I missed something in my childhood that has had a deleterious effect on me later in life.

It reminds me of listening to sports radio. I love sports and like to tune in once in a while hoping for some news and information that I find interesting. But often they are just cracking silly jokes and laughing at their own jokes, and I get bored easily, and tune out.

(In that case the more kudos the merrier) Is ir about building a better reputation or something? Is there some pot waiting at the end of the rainbow that I should know about? Can someone give me a kudos for this useful post?

@OC: I'm all for a bit of idle chit chat instead of the flame wars I have read in older threads. I think it builds the community up, tells us a little about the person behind the alias. That's gotta be worth a few KUDOS right? :-)

      I suppose...if you must...do what suits you...as you will...I guess I'm just a curmudgeon at heart.

(how's THAT for idle chit chat?)

I always like his talks. He connects really well with his audience and his message is always one that resonates for me.

He's pretty good, he gave an excellent one at the Relief Society conference that I like to listen to on a regular basis. Elder Holland was also excellent.

You sound like you got your funny bone broken, and it was never set properly.

I've found that I'm not a very good judge of which posts of mine will get kudos, or who will give them to me. Then again, I'm not especially trying to get them. Since I'm Orthodox, I tend to approach some subjects somewhat differently than my Protestant brethren and sistren, and I don't expect them to agree fully with everything I say.
