  • Trump tanks favorability ratings worldwide

Pew research released this week the results of its global survey of confidence in the US and its president. The results are pretty bad for Trump:

    Here's a by-nation breakdown of the Obama-Trump difference:

Russia likes Trump. But across key US international allies Trump has lost 40-80 percentage points in their confidence in the US to do the right thing, with nations as diverse as Japan, Canada, Germany, South Korea, the UK, Mexico, and Sweden, all having low confidence in the US president.

Overall, 74% of people internationally report "no confidence" in the current US President (as opposed to 64% who reported "confidence" when Obama was President)... guess that's how you Make America Great Again? This has also affected people's views of America internationally, with America's +38% favorability rating under Obama, dropping by almost three quarters, to a +10% favorability rating under Trump.

As I have noted regularly on this forum, and as recently as yesterday Obama's 'presidentialness' greatly raised US standing internationally far above what was deserved given his administration's continuation of failed Bush Era military policies. Trump's personal buffoonery is undoing that.

That Trump supporters are so dumb they believe his "Any negative polls are fake news" tweets? Or not to trouble TWeb conservatives with facts and information?

besides we really don't care if people in other countries approve in our President anyway.
Republican talking heads pretended to care when it was Obama. The bizarre and false claim that Obama "has emboldened our enemies and discouraged our allies" was a reasonably common talking point among low-information conservatives.

Explain why Trump, and his groupies brag on polls if the support Trump, and condemn polls that show the dark side as you do here.

What the poll doesn't say is that the liberal media worked as hard to prop Obama up as they are at tearing Trump down, so the results aren't particularly surprising or noteworthy.

I'm kind of confused by the graphs at the top. What were the dates of "end of obama presidency" and "beginning of trump presidency"? How many samples were taken in between? Looks like only two were taken and it doesn't say when.

it would be shocking if Trump got higher international ratings than obama given that he's not willing to sell out his own country for the benefit of foreigners at the same rate Obama and previous presidents were.
