And didn't one of the gospels say that He grew in favour with God and with man? Meaning that His life portrayed who He was.

      This?

(Luke 2:52 KJV) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
      2 Tim 2:1-2

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Re: The Physical Appearance of Jesus

While some are discussing whether the Master Jesus had blue eyes or brown eyes, we must not forget THE MESSAGE he brought to us is the most important thing that we ought to be considering - love for God and mankind. All else is secondary.
No matter what religions there are, they are man-made. God never made a religion. God is Life.

      As if we've forgotten that....

      ***Rest in peace, Curtmudgeon!***
      "I hate Manwe's posts because I hate babies and America." --Augustine2004, August 6, 2011

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'

'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

The Words of Húrin and Morgoth, "The Children of Húrin" by J.R.R. Tolkien

I really don't think any of us have forgotten that.
