      I can't stand Michio Kaku

This is almost a year old but I have to say something about it. There is no way I'll just let it slide.

Watch this video if you think you can stomach pop science trash: http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/47000...f-the-universe

I have to say, Michio Kaku does the field of physics a great disservice when he de-fangs all of physics into "left hand/right hand" without explaining the differences. Nobody, should make such horrid analogies when explaining physics to the public, it makes us look like idiots that read too much scifi. Let me go one by one and take this apart.

1)There is no such thing as a quantum physicist, wee already have a term for that, it's called a particle physicist. Anybody that honestly says they are a quantum physicist is using that term to reel you in.

2)Quantum physicist does not answer questions about the universes origin, destruction, and over all physics. That is left to the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology. Quantum field theory plays an obvious part in answering these questions but so does general relativity, making this misleading. I think he does this in order to imply to String Theory can answer fundamental questions about the universe. I have to laugh at such a suggestion. String Theory has not had much in the way of progress in answering unsolved problems in physics and astrophysics, save the infamous landscape.

3)Nobody outside of a handful of fanatics in the String theorist community believed there was a realistic chance of seeing any signs of strings at the LHC -- it was technically possible though. At best, it was hoped signs of Supersymmetry would show-up, and that has been a bust so far. The main hope is to find the Higgs. To go off and act like we are anywhere near finding evidence of strings is just irresponsible.

4)Einstein used god as substitute for order. He did not believe in a god outside the universe that had a personality.

Do it right or just keep your trap shut. This pisses me off to levels I can barely describe with words. Kaku maybe a fine scientist to some in the particle physics community but he has to stop talking. It's just gotten worse and worse with this guy over the years. It's bad enough people think that we get our ideas from Star-Wars without him making physics into a BS easy as 1-2-3 childs play understanding. These issues are WAY to complex right now to do them justice with a couple of phrases. It undermines the hard world of those in his very community.

On the plus side, he has amazing hair.
O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams.

Sure he does, he often makes an ass of himself.

Sea of Red: It is easy to sling stuff at others. I have seen you repeatedly say silly things - crazy stuff. Perhaps you could turn your thread (this thread) to a worthwhile purpose. No more - 'I will teach the world about every question they ever asked in forthcoming posts' . Please deliver. You were going to educate us all about advanced mechanics, amazing relativity , gravity and so on. You did nothing but disappear. And now you resuscitate yourself and throw insults!

Please deliver on those grand promises.Oh I understand that you are so sensitive that you cannot actually discuss issues. Your sorry burden is to promise to 'educate'. Meanwhile you insult.

      Stand and deliver !

Huh?? Only if you use your New Age Dictionary do you get that I'm a "fool".

      Kaku is a pro-Evo buffoon, but he's a good story-teller and so he'll continue
in his roles probably making more money than you ever will.
