RT --- children do that silly "I accuse you of the same stuff you accuse me of" because they have no real substance. YOU are playing Bible Cafeteria. The scriptures you "posted" are snatched by you out of context, which is a typical Mormon use of the Bible. You post some scriptures that give PART of the nature and character of Christ, then extrapolate that into your own version of who He is and what He wold do.

You cannot support your position with fact or Scripture.

Now, if you'd like, please show me where you think I played Bible Cafeteria. You mean the part where I included the "rest of the verse" that you kinda sorta left out? It's called CONTEXT, RT --- Jesus wasn't just speaking that into the air, he was speaking specifically to Peter, as part of a bigger conversation.

Like this part that doesn't fit your argument that Jesus was only setting examples for his disciples.

I know what you're gonna say in true CP fashion. An example of how to eat?

First, where did I say Jesus was ONLY setting examples for his disciples? I was speaking to the particular verse where you kinda sorta accidentally left out the fact that PETER was speaking, and Jesus was answering.

I was countering your nonsense that seemed to imply that Jesus was ALWAYS kind to EVERYBODY, and would wash anybody's feet who asked him. You have YET to back that up with any Scripture.

I pointed out some EXCEPTIONS to your notion that we always have to be kind to everybody "because Jesus did".

Let's do this .... make the actual point you'd like to defend, and let's go from there.

You obviously don't know me like you don't know Jesus, yet PRETEND to know us BOTH!

The money changers wouldn't have asked him - nor would the pharisees. But if they had with a pure heart, he would have. He would have been overjoyed. Jesus was not kind to the money changers because they were defiling His Father's House, and the hearts of all the visitors - the most sacred things of God. Did Jesus rebuke evil - sure he did. But almost always he was teaching and setting the example. Did he not set an example for Judas, whom he knew was going to betray him?

I'm not sure exactly why you keep arguing the way you are. My guess is you want to justify yourself for being abusive to those you view as evil or sinners?

How do you know that? Besides the upper room with His disciples, where has Jesus done foot washings? Is this just a supposition of yours, or, perhaps, another Mormon teaching I didn't know about?

AND he called people snakes and whited tombs! He wasn't as one dimensional as you seem to believe.

But almost always he was teaching and setting the example. Did he not set an example for Judas, whom he knew was going to betray him?
yeah, THAT turned out great, didn't it! It was more like Jesus was giving Judas enough rope to ... hey wait.. Judas DID hang himself! Probably not one of your better examples.

      Who am I abusing?

You got your OWN self off the point of the thread by starting to whine....

And speaking of OC -- you need to follow his advice about choosing NOT to be offended, and simply stay on point. It's your choice.

Taking offense at something is probably one of the last things I want to do where my faith is concerned.
So just make the choice, RT. Anything else?
