Someone reading this is walking through a dark corridor leading to hopelessness. Someone reading this is standing at the threshold of an emotional crisis. Someone reading this is overwhelmed by circumstances beyond their control. Someone reading this needs Jesus!

IS THAT SOMEONE YOU?

That someone is us! I am writing this verse on Sunday tomorrow morning my wife will get the COMPLETE results of a biopsy she had last Monday. The other day we received what we thought was an all clear on lung cancer but then she discovered there was one more test that remained unanswered and we found ourselves experiencing all of the above. Thinking about what yet lies ahead the words of the Hymn “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus” written by Louisa M. R. Stead verse 1 slowly and steadily turn up the light of the divine promises.

“Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know, ‘Thus saith the Lord.’”

“God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light.” (Colossians 1:11-12 NCV)

“Even as we I walk through a very dark valley, we will not be afraid, because Jesus walks with us. And his rod and your walking stick comfort us.” (Based on Psalms 23:4 NCV)

Tuesday footnote… The diagnosis is in the doctor says Patti has a non-life threatening “pain in the butt” treatable disease called sar-koy-DO-sis and there is no cancer.
