Male - MormonObama's new campaign slogan: "Forward, and Over the Cliff."
Actually, his new slogan is simply "Forward." But the word "Forward" by itself could mean anything. What is the "direction" is the question that concerns me.
I think an excellent counter campaign slogan might be "Direction First."Last edited by OtherCheek; April 30th 2012 at 03:17 PM.

And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in c\taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning."

Almost anything can be fodder for political cartoons.
OC, why do you make so many potshots at the President?

Re: Obama's new campaign slogan: "Forward, and Over the Clif
In his defense, it's much better than "we are the ones we've been waiting for".
"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

Re: Obama's new campaign slogan: "Forward, and Over the Clif
It's a well-made ad; towing a decent line between negative and positive reinforcement. "Forward" takes 2008 as a starting point, lays out the areas that the president has moved the nation forward (see vertical ticker near end of ad) and paints the Republican opposition as trying to prevent any forward progress. It won't make any converts, in and of itself, but it seems to be a direct response to the Republican attack that "this is a president who cannot run on his record."

Because I see him as a real danger to the American way of life. About the only good thing I can say about him is that he has been faithful to his wife, and his marriage vows. That goes a long way too. But I don't see anything good coming down the road if we embrace his political policies.

I originally saw the slogan as "just a word". But it seems there is a history behind that "word", at least in the eyes of this writer:
