Re: The Mormon Moment
LDS might not have the violent history that Islam does, but theologically speaking, they are about the same(well maybe that's a little exaggerated, but the more I see, the more LDS takes on the bad things I see in Islam).

Well, actually, quite a bit of their violence was former members fighting back, and internal squabbles. While Mormons play the "persecution" card to the max, some of this violence and "persecution" was from excommunicated Church Members, angry at the destruction of the printing press, or by Smith proposing marriage to their wives... even some (maybe even most) of the mob who murdered Smith were former members.
But, yeah, nothing like Islam.

Re: The Mormon Moment
IMO LDS is more dangerous(I'm going to be as upfront as I can, LDS is a deception, and if not from the devil, than from simply a corrupt human being), as it's more likely to deceive people today than Islam is, especially with all of Islam's "fruits" being so visible in the media.

"Defending?" I think you mean "incapable of convincing you". Agreed, and that is why I don't even try to convince you. I don't need to convince you, in order to validate my Faith. I don't know how many times we've been over that point. But I wish you could grasp it finally. You apparently don't understand my answers because you don't have the same basis as I do. That's fine. But why do you feel a need to argue as if you were the devil on my shoulder? I'm simply explaining my reasoning as a believer. As a non-believer, it is perfectly reasonable that you can't see eye to eye with that, but your incessant arguing doesn't make sense to me. It's almost as if you needed ME to agree with you in order for you to validate your own beliefs.
"Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.
And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in c\taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning."

Mercy, OC .. simmer down.... I thought we BOTH knew we were speaking just as much to the lurkers and others as to each other. Calm yourself, brother! What I GRASP is that you have been deluded into thinking Smith is a real prophet and the Book of Mormon is real scripture.

AngelYou apparently don't understand my answers because you don't have the same basis as I do. That's fine. But why do you feel a need to argue as if you were the devil on my shoulder?
Ah, there's that Mormon spin again... No, OC --- I am the believer --- Christians have been believers LONG before Smith appeared on the scene to muck the whole thing up. YOU are the religionist!I'm simply explaining my reasoning as a believer. As a non-believer, it is perfectly reasonable that you can't see eye to eye with that, but your incessant arguing doesn't make sense to me. It's almost as if you needed ME to agree with you in order for you to validate your own beliefs.
Jesus provides a SIMPLE way to Heaven by FAITH in Him, and Smith steps in and makes it much more convoluted, splits Heaven up into "classes", and makes HIMSELF the proprietor, IN EFFECT, of the "best" part of Heaven.....
No, OC --- Smith took God's "Simple Plan of Salvation" and turned it into a whole RELIGION.... I'll stick with Jesus,
