Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
From Mormonism to Wicca to Islam - and Couldn't Find the TRUTH in Any of Them!!
I've been a free member of T-Web for about six years and I've been called many names but today a Jewish t-webber by the name of Tanakh Keeper asked me the following question:
Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda? ( From: Judachrislam )
It's got me thinking seeing as I recently took out my ancient copy of the Book of Mormon and a more recent copy and began reading them. Gulp
Am I becoming a Mormon or Wiccan? What do you guys think? How would I know?
I know I'm sympathetic towards Wiccans and love you guys and Jehovah's Witnesses but could it be that I'm actually a Mormon-Wiccan?
I guess one would then call me a Moriccan. Am I becoming a Morican?

Re: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
Of those 3 choices, I think my preferences would rank as follows:
1. LDS.
2. JW.
3. Wiccan

religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

Re: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
If you're being serious, I'd reverse the order as I've found Wicca to be most engaging and Jehovah's Witnesses to more complex to navigate than LDS, however I have enjoyed more intelligent interactions with LDS representatives.
If you're being serious, would you please describe how you came to your ranking of these three religions?
Peace,
Eric

Oh, okay.
I've learned over the years that people are not theologies and that is something that organizations are. Essentially, I've had my world rocked by people from all three groups and don't find much use in generalized beliefs.

Re: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
Wicca has no foundation in reality. Christianity does. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as real events give Christianity an anchor in history. Wicca has nothing.

I don't understand, are you window shopping for a faith system? I've been reading said Book of Moromon also, and it is complete rubbish as far as the Bible goes - again, I'm biased also. The JWs are just plain silly and Wicca is pure evil, I used to dabble in it. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through Him.

Re: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
Harmonious? Really? Bending the forces of nature to your will? Hardly seems harmonious to me. (I used to dabble in this stuff)
Wicca is ancient, it is paganism revived, a lane on the road to destruction. Buddhism is peaceful as well and that is contradictory at its foundation! Wicca is an evil, demonic power thirsty faith.

Re: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
I see you're quite new to Theology Web Campus. Welcome!
Goodness me no, not at all. If you follow the opening post you'll see that this post is a knee jerk reaction to something which was said me by one of our Jewish members wrote me the following: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
At the time I thought to open a post in our Wicca / Witchcraft forum but as it's a slow mover, I thought I'd bring it here where I am fairly well known to some of the LDS members of the past, hoping they would confirm that I'm don't serve the Mormon agenda.
What is it in particular that you consider 'complete rubbish as far as the Bible goes' Of course you're biased, it's what us humans do better than chimps.
Anyhow seeing as you made this comment on the LDS forum, I think it's only reasonable that state what it was that you read that was complete rubbish as far as the Bible goes? Don't hang back for others to present the usual slam-dunk attempts at slaughtering the LDS (as is the practice of many here - well that was what it was like 6 months ago)
Again your statement that 'JWs are just plain silly' needs more than a statement to be responded to. Specifics please?
'Wicca is pure evil, I used to dabble in it' Once again a statement with no specifics.
I look forward to your more detailed arguments.
Peace,
Eric.Last edited by headheart; May 9th 2012 at 10:22 AM.

Okay. Rather than clog up this forum which is for the LDS with issues relating to Wicca and Witchcraft, I've opened a post there where Bill The Cat and you can respond if you're up to it. The post is titled: Wicca is an evil, demonic power thirsty faith.
See you there.
Peace,
Eric

Eric,
That's just the window dressing. None of that is anchored in any reality. It is a feelings based response used to draw you away from the truth of the resurrection. "Oneness" with God only comes through Jesus Christ, not any peaceful, harmonious and balanced act we performI may not yet be as old as dirt, but dirt and I are starting to have an awful lot in common... Re: Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda?
Shalom Eric
I'm touched that one of my posts to you made such a deep impression. For the record, you had said My response above (Is Mormonism or Wicca on your agenda) was to ask if you would change your own heart to be more accepting of Wicca or Mormonism.
I'm impressed that you do want to learn more about and be more accepting of Mormonism.Micah 6:6. With what shall I come before the Lord, bow before the Most High G-d? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with yearling calves? 7. Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with myriad streams of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8. He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the Lord demands of you; but to do justice, to love loving-kindness, and to walk discreetly with your G-d.
