These are the 3 most powerful words in your life! They have the power to lead to enjoy life or destroy life depending on the focus point of your life. Here are some focus points from Psalms 16…
“Protect me, LORD God! I run to you for safety, and I have said, "Only you are my Lord! Every good thing I have is a gift from you. You, LORD, are all I want! You are my choice, and you keep me safe.” (Psalms 16:1-2, 5 CEV)
“You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright.” (Psalms 16:6 CEV)
“I praise you, LORD, for being my guide. Even in the darkest night, your teachings fill my mind. I will always look to you, as you stand beside me and protect me from fear.” (Psalms 16:7-8 CEV)
“With all my heart, I will celebrate, and I can safely rest.” (Psalms 16:9 CEV)
“I am your chosen one. You won't leave me in the grave or let my body decay. You have shown me the path to life, and you make me glad by being near to me. Sitting at your right side, I will always be joyful.” (Psalms 16:10-11 CEV)
In many ways, the Psalms as well as the entire bible seem to be only circumstantial evidence as when facing seemingly insurmountable odds they become “pie in the sky” hopes. Yet all it takes is a “pie in the sky” hope and a few uttered words, “Protect me, Lord God!” to ignite the word Believe.
This morning if all you have is a “pie in the sky” belief that God is all you need then let that belief work in you and before you know it you will not be feasting on a pie in the sky but on the presence of the Holy Spirit and the loving words of God.
