I'm giving you the LDS perspective, Bill.
And I'm telling you that the LDS "perspective" is claptrap.

Your reaction simply indicates you have greater interest in "arguing against" and "vilifying", rather than understanding a perspective different than yours.
I fully understand your perspective, and I understand that it is wrong. As I have said umpteen times, the EXISTENCE of a perspective does not validate the TRUTHFULNESS of that perspective.

How does the Bible claim that the dead who never heard of Christ or His Gospel, are to be saved?

Mormons actually have a "sealing cancellation" ceremony, Moss. I think this is the Mormon expression for "divorce". I have no idea if this would apply in a death situation, but if the Mormons are claiming that a woman can be sealed ONLY to one man, and we know that many women lose husbands and remarry, I would not be surprised if there was a "sealing cancellation" for this ---- but I'm just guessing!

I'm talking about the Malachi prophecy.

The Malachi prophecy doesn't deal with that, and that's what we are talking about.

What was so "great and dreadful" about the birth of Christ? Or his life on the earth?

I know there are a lot of Christians who believe that the great and dreadful day of the Lord is past, and there is not going to be another one. But I believe it is coming.

Why would the earth be smitten with a curse if the hearts of the children are not turned to their fathers? And vise versa?

I've explained what we believe and the reason for it. We both already know that what I believe, you would not.

Right. But the LDS believe what the angel Moroni told Joseph regarding the meaning of this verse in Malachi.

And we know that there was an angel named Moroni because Smith said there was, but Smith was a real prophet, because he said he was, and the Book of Mormon.....

"The Spirit whispers this to me and tells me it is true. And tells me it is true."

Line from the LDS Primary Songbook.

so in effect you are admitting that Moroni was a lousy bible interpreter?

well you admitted that the verse was not talking about convenants or marriage. So if Moroni said it was, then he was a bad bible interpreter. Or a liar, or he never existed. Simple logic.

I don't know why, but every time I see "Moroni" I think of Marconi.
