Lordship Salvation
Lordship salvation is the idea that calling people to place their trust in Christ for their salvation presupposes that sinners are supposed to repent of their sins and submit to God's authority. Relying on God to save you from your sins, turning from your sins, and submitting to God's authority are things that should take place simultaneously. These things are involved in one's conversion. These things precede any change in one's behavior. Lordship salvation that one must live out a changed life before receiving a right standing before God. Moreover, lordship salvation does not teach that one's right standing before God is dependent upon how well one obeys God. What do you think of lordship salvation? I'm just asking because some people think that lordship salvation teaches that the commitment to stop sinning and to obey God are the means by which justification is received.

Re: Lordship Salvation
Some people also hold the false belief that "Lordship Salvation" means that real Christians never sin, or that sanctification is not a process. Thankfully neither of those is true.

I guess it would be fair to describe me as a proponent of lordship salvation, though I have never formally systemized my thoughts on the specifics of justification to the extent that the OP mentions.
1 Corinthians 3 (the chapter where Paul addresses "babes in Christ") has been used to support the notion of carnal Christianity being possible. While this certainly does bolster the notion that sanctification is a process (which RBerman alluded to), I don't think we can conclude from it that people can stay in that state indefinitely. If somebody persistently refuses to grow their commitment in Christ, I think it's fair to look at the sincerity of their conversion with skepticism.
As an aside, I've read that probably the main verse that's used by the people who claim that true Christians will literally never sin again is 1 John 3:6; however, such an interpretation isn't even consistent with the rest of what John writes in that letter, as 1 John 2:1 and 5:16 indicate that it is possible for Christians to sin, which means that 3:6 is best interpreted as meaning that Christians won't be going out, consistently and flagrantly sinning without ever thinking to repent.
