Male - MormonWhat will a person take with him?
What do you believe that a person will take with him when he dies, and what will he NOT take with him when he dies?
What is your basis for such a belief and what does the Bible teach about this? What do additional LDS scriptures say about this?
List some things that you believe you will or won't be able to take with you when you die.
I'll give my own thoughts after a few others give theirs.Last edited by OtherCheek; June 2nd 2012 at 12:10 PM.

IMO, we get to take our memories of our Earth life, the lessons we have learned, the knowledge we got from school or from hard knocks, and one carry-on bag if it can fit under the seat.
"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

well we know we won't be able to take any pet moths to heaven.

But I will be able to send my treasure on ahead to wait for me! God is good to pirates!

I believe we take with us our guilt, or our confidence, our memories, our knowledge obtained, our memories, our experiences, our family and spouse relationships (if sealed in the Temple), and our associations that we know in this life.
But I'm gonna have my kids pack my hearse to heaven with smothered chicken enchiladas just in case."Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.

Re: What will a person take with him?
emphasis mine
Do you believe we retain the guilt....or is that something Jesus "does away with"/heal when we're there?
Since heaven is a place of perfection and joy....I don't believe we'll bring guilt with us (at least not keep it).
[21:1]*Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. [2]*And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3]*And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. [4]*He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
[5]*And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” [6]*And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. [7]*The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
