I bet, because of your blindness, OC ... you don't even NOTICE that that girl has HORNS growing out of her head, and when she's talking to that other girl, demons are jumping around in the background, and subliminal messages saying "Number 9, Number 9, Number 9" scroll across the bottom of the screen. And when you watch that video BACKWARDS, she's saying "submit to Satan, submit to Satan, submit to Satan".

Yeah OC -- no WONDER you think it's really good!

Not true. What has made me treat my enemies less kindly, is the extra time I have spent here INSTEAD of reading the Book of Mormon. Any chance you're in a similar boat, where the more time you spend here mocking people, and the less time you spend reading the Bible, has made you less kind to people than your version of Jesus would like you to be?

Maybe forums where the majority have an agenda to demean the minority are inimical to the character improvements that could result from reading either of those books.

If that is true, and I have no reason to believe it's not, then you have a good point.

Having a "no LDS allowed" policy is different from having a "no officially and exclusively LDS TEAMS allowed" policy.

Maybe the reason you don't see, is that the LDS church DOESN'T try very hard to identify as just another Christian denomination. We claim to be the CLOSEST one currently in existence to what Jesus wants a Christian denomination to be. Not that we are better than all others in all things, since I see things in other churches that I wish we would adopt. But overall, generally speaking, our claim is that we are not "just another" Christian denomination. What kind of marketing strategy is that, if the goal is to beat the competition?

Heck, even the Salvation Army realizes that claims of mediocrity is not a smart strategy:

The Salvation Army: Doing the most good.℠

when their whole schtick is that Christianity is apostate and only they are the "true" Christian church.
I guess all I needed to do was let the second half of your sentence refute the first half.

Well actually I do see. it's a marketing ploy. they want to be accepted as a mainstream "normal" religion instead of a cult, so that they can more easily gather new members. "See we are just like you! Come join our church!"
Well, part of that is true: We ARE just like you: Sinners, flawed people, a certain percentage of whom are jerks, with a sprinkling of scholars and academicians, in need of salvation and answers to the important questions.

Yeah, cause EVERYBODY knows that a "restored" '57 Chevy looks CLOSEST to a dump truck.

Ah so why do you do it then? Why not spend more time in the Book of Mormon and leave this evil site? You have threatened to do so in the past, yet you keep coming back. Glutton for punishment? Sadomasochist? Or just earning S&H greenstamps for your persecution complex?

Hmmmm..... we could throw in a lot more "And it came to pass" and "And behold" to make you feel more at home!

Because Jeff, the LDS's first goal is to be accepted as "normal" - then they do the whole "we are better than Christians" after they have their fish hooked.

This is a pretty standard marketing ploy when your product is perceived as inferior to most. First you have to overcome the negativity, by raising brand awareness and making it part of the mainstream. Then you can move on to explaining why your product is better, and even better if you do that part in private so as to avoid public condemnation.
