No. It's been colloquially called "blessed assurance"

LDS receive a confirmation of the Holy Ghost that confirms their faith and true conversion.
Which was taught to you by the very same LDS church. But we see it as a self-validating reliance upon your own feelings that you have been mistakenly trained to believe is the Holy Spirit.

No such thing in your Faith?
It's debatable. Now, I do believe in the evidence of speaking in other tongues, which I have personally experienced in a crowd of about 70 people. But it's anecdotal and very personal to me. I wouldn't dare try to convince someone else based on my own experience. Jesus has much more than I could ever offer. My wife would tell you that she hears from God frequently, however, sometimes what she believes is God is just her wishes, and they fall flat. God's Word doesn't fail.

Yeah, REAL Christians such as Father CP here, don't believe that God is light--that's just crazy talk. They believe more sensible things, such as that God is truth, God is love, and other such non-abstract things.

LDS rely less on outward signs for confirmation of conversion. Signs can be at least as deceiving as something like "blessed assurance", if not more so.

OC, I would still like a direct answer, and not your dividing the question into "sub categories". Jeff answered, and I think he did a good job, but I have yet to see a straight answer from you considering "What is MOST Important?". Surely if Jeff can give a straight answer so can you, right?(note this post is to be slightly teasing, but the main question is still what I really want answered)

It's much deeper than just that. It is as steady as knowing that when you take your next step, the ground will be underneath you.

Exactly. You rely on your own idea of what the Holy Spirit should "feel" like, and that idea has been cultivated and coached by every LDS meeting you attend. So, in the end, you are convinced of the truth of the LDS Church by the method they taught you.

While you are convinced of the truth of orthodoxy by the method they teach you--that a confession is the only confirmation you need of your true conversion.
