Re: What's Most Important?
Yes. That's what faith is.
No. It's been colloquially called "blessed assurance"And no actual confirmation of that conversion is necessary for him to know that he is truly converted?
Which was taught to you by the very same LDS church. But we see it as a self-validating reliance upon your own feelings that you have been mistakenly trained to believe is the Holy Spirit.LDS receive a confirmation of the Holy Ghost that confirms their faith and true conversion.
It's debatable. Now, I do believe in the evidence of speaking in other tongues, which I have personally experienced in a crowd of about 70 people. But it's anecdotal and very personal to me. I wouldn't dare try to convince someone else based on my own experience. Jesus has much more than I could ever offer. My wife would tell you that she hears from God frequently, however, sometimes what she believes is God is just her wishes, and they fall flat. God's Word doesn't fail.No such thing in your Faith?I may not yet be as old as dirt, but dirt and I are starting to have an awful lot in common... "Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.
And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in c\taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning."

Re: What's Most Important?
OC, I would still like a direct answer, and not your dividing the question into "sub categories". Jeff answered, and I think he did a good job, but I have yet to see a straight answer from you considering "What is MOST Important?". Surely if Jeff can give a straight answer so can you, right?(note this post is to be slightly teasing, but the main question is still what I really want answered)

Re: What's Most Important?
It's much deeper than just that. It is as steady as knowing that when you take your next step, the ground will be underneath you.
Exactly. You rely on your own idea of what the Holy Spirit should "feel" like, and that idea has been cultivated and coached by every LDS meeting you attend. So, in the end, you are convinced of the truth of the LDS Church by the method they taught you.LDS rely less on outward signs for confirmation of conversion. Signs can be at least as deceiving as something like "blessed assurance", if not more so.I may not yet be as old as dirt, but dirt and I are starting to have an awful lot in common... True, he hadn't....but Marshall Applewhite traveled thru time on the Comet of the Angels, and returned from the future with the technology.
I like the ones that say "Trespassers will be shot, survivors will be prosecuted."Or, are you talking about THIS kind of post?
