"Dealt with" and "resolved" are not necessarily the same, OC. You're going to endlessly excuse or minimize what Smith did because you believe he's the Prophet of the Restoration. Nobody's really dealing with Smith's "prophecy" that his otherwise faithful wife would be destroyed for not going along with his polygamy scheme, for example. The closest you can come is to assert that God ordered it. I think that's foolishness.
Hmmmmm..... kinda like that woman politician who's trying to explain that she really THOUGHT she was a Native American?Beyond the degree of overkill.
Yeah, he was.Joseph was no con man,
AH, but you must have MISSED my recent "chicken" saga.anymore than you are a con man for eating bacon
IRL, OC, I eat very little bacon.
Chicken!which you have been told is not good for the body.
Now, if I had TAUGHT everybody that bacon was bad for them, then opened up a BACON BAR in the hotel that I owned... THEN you might could call me a con man!

Re: Question for those who are non-LDS only.
There was no argument made. Just disgust.
Your post was meant to specifically insult the Catholic Bishops, and was an unprovoked attack on a bad situation that deserves compassion and understanding, especially for the victims sake. Their tragedies should NEVER be used as a cheap dig response to someone complaining about the age of your bishops. Whether you intended that or not, that's how it seemed to me. And it made me sick to my stomach. Some of them almost certainly ARE. What planet have you been living on?
Your comment was FAR worse, Jeff.If you antis can make unqualified, blanket accusations that Joseph Smith was, for example, a con artist, is it "disgustingly" worse to say that SOME Catholic bishops are gay? Is the veracity of such a statement even in doubt? What do have against gay people, anyhow?I may not yet be as old as dirt, but dirt and I are starting to have an awful lot in common... Re: Question for those who are non-LDS only.
I know. The use of ad hominem ATTACKS, as a SUBSTITUTE for substantive discussion or argument, is what can hurt your credibility....should you actually make an argument in the future.
I doubt they are even reading the thread.Your post was meant to specifically insult the Catholic Bishops,
Wow! Strange rhetoric coming from someone who routinely makes unprovoked attacks on what he feels to be the "bad situation" the LDS are in. Don't the LDS deserve compassion and understanding? This forum screams "No" if your posts (and those of Sparko, Cerebrum, and CP) are any indication.and was an unprovoked attack on a bad situation that deserves compassion and understanding
This is the part where CP calls you a crybaby drama queen and whiner, with a dose of persecution complex on the side. Any response to CP you'd like to make?, especially for the victims sake. Their tragedies should NEVER be used as a cheap dig response to someone complaining about the age of your bishops. Whether you intended that or not, that's how it seemed to me. on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

Re: Question for those who are non-LDS only.
Do I really need credibility with you? I think NOT!
But Catholics are.I doubt they are even reading the thread.
The fact that you can't see the difference is quite telling, Jeff.Wow! Strange rhetoric coming from someone who routinely makes unprovoked attacks on what he feels to be the "bad situation" the LDS are in. Don't the LDS deserve compassion and understanding? So, you're a mind-reader now too? Like I said... many "talents", huh? This is the part where CP calls you a crybaby drama queen and whiner, with a dose of persecution complex on the side. Re: Question for those who are non-LDS only.
If your credibility is something you haven't cared about, it explains a lot.
Find me a Catholic who doesn't agree that some bishops are probably gay. If you can find any, ask them if they also deny that the Holocaust really occurred. But Catholics are.
There is no need to be a mind reader in this case, since all one needs to do is see the pattern, the track record he has established. If a dog salivates every time it hears a bell, you don't need to read its mind to predict its behavior the next time someone rings a bell. So, you're a mind-reader now too?"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's

Re: Question for those who are non-LDS only.
Again Jeff, I frankly don't give a rat's behind if YOU grant me credibility. It is GOD'S words that condemn you and your false doctrines.
Find me a Mormon who doesn't agree that some of their bishops are probably gay...Find me a Catholic who doesn't agree that some bishops are probably gay.
Good. Because you are ridiculously underqualified. There is no need to be a mind reader in this case,
Sorry, Jeff. I am far from your lofty level of drama queenship. I'll bet you have a special room for all of the tiaras you have won too...since all one needs to do is see the pattern, the track record he has established. If a dog salivates every time it hears a bell, you don't need to read its mind to predict its behavior the next time someone rings a bell.I may not yet be as old as dirt, but dirt and I are starting to have an awful lot in common... Re: Question for those who are non-LDS only.
So you're saying that it's a false doctrine that some Catholic bishops are gay? Dang! If you are right--which you are not--and subscribing to such a "doctrine" gets people condemned by God, then I think that even a lot of Catholics --not to mention Protestants and regular, rational, realistic people--are gonna be condemned...
...or maybe you're just making a lot of drama from an obviously-correct statement, for the drama value or something.
If you really want to keep digging yourself into that hole you're in, I am willing to not try to stop you."I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

Broader context than that issue, Jeff.
Sorry, Zero, but you are a much better digger than I ever could be...or maybe you're just making a lot of drama from an obviously-correct statement, for the drama value or something.
