I do agree with this. People can and do believe the weirdest things. I suspect that more ludicrous beliefs (and yes, I agree Mormonism is one of those) can only be sustained by demoting the role of logic and reason and supplanting them with emotionalism disguised as authentic spirituality. Then it becomes a virtue to believe 'six impossible things before breakfast'.
I suspect I won't be getting Christmas cards now from my LDS friends. Wait, I don't have any. I wonder why?One blue sky above us
One ocean lapping all our shore
One earth so green and round
Who could ask for more

"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."
-C.S. Lewis (Collected Letters Vol. 3 p. 209).

Re: Why are you LDS / Mormon?
You got that right--some even believe that the best way to know God is to limit yourself to describing what He's NOT. : )
What do you think of studies that suggest that LDS people are relatively more educated--and that LDS are a rarity in that the higher their education, the closer they tend to embrace their faith ? (Compared to, say, Evangelicals)I suspect that more ludicrous beliefs (and yes, I agree Mormonism is one of those) can only be sustained by demoting the role of logic and reason and supplanting them with emotionalism disguised as authentic spirituality.
Maybe it's the fact that they have all been brainwashed to eschew non-prejudiced, non-insulting people such as yourself?I suspect I won't be getting Christmas cards now from my LDS friends. Wait, I don't have any. I wonder why?"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's

I hope it doesn't hurt your feelings too much to learn that I don't think much of your opinions. Over 47,000 posts--I hope that SOME of them are non-caustic.
Maybe you will be shocked and stunned into silence? Can't hurt to hope....but I am just in shocked amazement that people take that shyster seriously at all."I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's

I think he was asking me, not you, but that's okay if you want to admit that you can't answer it. As for myself, I CAN answer it. That doesn't mean I feel charitable enough today to do so without some quid pro quo from CP. He's getting spoiled and lazy, expecting that people will drop everything to answer 100 of his questions even when he is unwilling to answer 90 that are asked of him."I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
