The Holy Spirit has confirmed very clearly to me that Smith is/was an imposter, the Book of Mormon is a work of fiction, and Mormonism is a false religion.
The "aha moment" for me came as I read about the "prophecy" Smith "received" for his wife, threatening her with destruction if she didn't go along with the polygamy scheme. That was about the most cowardly, selfish, self serving thing I have ever heard of from a "man of God".
In order to even consider Mormonism as a way of life, I would have to be convinced that Smith was a true prophet.
