On the whole, Christians don't like it when others don't share their beliefs. And yes, they can get mean about it. They regard it as doing you a favor.

My experience on tweb is that if one posts a well thought out OP that one has spent some time thinking about then one will get a generous and helpful response from Twebbers.

The OP, IMO, is nothing more than barfing out a confused and sloppy OP and expecting Twebber's to help clean it up and at the same time say "No that's not some smelly barf you have there but beautiful spread of flowers."

Judaism is not a religion where you sit at home thinking it all out on your own and then ask for help once you've already got it all figured out (which would never happen anyway). Not everyone is eloquent in their writing. I happen to know someone who is very intelligent but when he tries to write, it's a jumbled mess. If you judged him based on what he wrote on a forum you would probably imagine him to be mentally handicapped. He isn't. He's an Electrical Engineer.

If you believe the OP to be incorrect on a point, then correct her. You do not have to accuse her of being mentally impaired because she does not live up to your expectations in expressing her thoughts. You do not have to berate her because you disagree with her opinion.

This is not one of your moat compassionate, empathetic nice guy moments. In fact it rates up there with the dark ones.

I am just finishing up with my conversion process into the Reform Judaism. For me it dose not matter what branch that I chose, my Wife is a Conservative. I chose Reform because it is the closest to where I live and to me it dose not mater, a Jew is a Jew, it is more about how you practice and live your faith. My Rabbi is a fantastic teacher and has lead me step by step along my path.
You do not have to be Jewish to keep Kosher, it is a dietary path that was laid down in the Torah. And any prayer is better than no prayer. The Shema is an act of faith that should be said by everyone. I know that I am more than likely going to get some flack for over simplifying things.
Your best bet is to find a Rabbi that you are comfortable and is willing to take you on as a convert prospect. Talk to him and explain your reasons for wanting to convert. Remember that there is an old thing about being rejected three times, Don't let it stop you if this is what you want. Also, sometimes it is not easy to be a Jew, this MUST be something that you want.

You sound like you are searching. Like you I find Judaism a wonderfully appealing religion. I love the Torah including the legalism. I have close friends who are Jewish, but more than anything I love Jesus Christ and believe in him as the Annointed One, the Messiah. I would never be able to deny my belief in Jesus, which would be required of me to convert to the Hebrew faith.

At one time I felt that to regularly attend Shul (Synagogue services) would help me to understand Jesus' background. But recently I have contented myself with attending a Kesher course run as a house group. Kesher means connection in Hebrew, and the course has helped me to further appreciate the links between the Tanakh or OT and the Gospels. At the moment I am reading a book entitled 'Sitting at the feet of Rabbi Jesus' although Rabbi Yeshua might be considered more correct. With apologies to our Jewish friends on the forum I think this sort of approach might suit you better than jumping headlong into conversion. By converting you would meet some wonderful new people, but you may just find something missing in your life. Why not try the halfway path like me, explore Judaism but remain a Christian.
