Take it back to the thread you ripped it from.
"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

Nope. That would derail the other thread.

Or maybe I am letting you have all the rope (in the form of smug "He is unable to provide anything" comments) you want before you hang yourself with it.

The proper thing would be to actually answer the question. And I didn't say you are UNABLE, Jeff.... I'm still waiting.

      Re: Paganistic?

I still fail to see how there is even a comparison. The LDS claim to be the restored church who's prophet is in direct contact with God himself. So as a realy troo prophet, how can they make such mistakes? Is their radio to God broken? No Christian church claims to be in direct contact with God like the LDS do, not even the Orthodox or Catholic Popes claim that. We have to muddle through with the leading of the Holy Spirit, not direct verbal and visual communication like Smith had.

God leaves a lot of room for his church to learn things by experience, instead of spoon-feeding them through adulthood.
"Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.
And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in c\taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning."

Even during the few years that Christ was actually on Earth, in charge, and personally running things, He allowed His apostles to make a number of mistakes. Why would the antis expect the LDS church to do a BETTER job than that, during a time when Jesus is up in heaven most of the time, and is allowing the apostles to do their best relying on inspiration?

I mean, if they hold the LDS church to a higher standard than they hold the original, demonstrably-Christ-led church to, I guess we should feel flattered, even if they are being unreasonable.

What if we just admitted that for as long as Christ isn't down here 24/7, personally leading the LDS church, it's not going to measure up 100% to the original? Do you think that would satisfy the antis?

      Church Lady: How Conveeeeeenient.

When you want to prove something is true, you claim your prophets have the truth revealed to them directly from God. Yet when that becomes a problem, why, God wants us to learn by experience and not be spoon-fed.

So I guess all those things that Smith claimed God told him were just his imagination then? Because why would God spood-feed Smith stuff directly?

God does both. He reveals where he needs to. But on matters learning can be obtained by experience, he let's us learn. As opposed to the puppet on a string model that you would imagine.
