Re: Poll on what Acts 2:38 was intended to mean
Incorrect. If you repent, but die before you have the opportunity to get baptized, then God in His grace will remit your sins based on your intention to follow His commands. If you reject the opportunity, then IMO your sins probably won't be remitted - but that's for God to decide, not me. All I know is that we are commanded to be baptized, and a true follower of Christ will follow His commands.

Re: Poll on what Acts 2:38 was intended to mean
well I sort of agree with that. I think that if you willfully refuse to be baptized then you are basically saying that you are not obedient and your faith is probably just lip service.
You can have faith and not be baptized and be saved.
But you can't be baptized and not have faith and be saved.
So being saved is actually only contingent on faith.

Such drama! And invective. Why would you accuse me like that? One would hope that you might be willing to engage in a civil discussion, given half a chance. But civil discussion requires that you list evidence that supports your accusations....in a civil manner.
You up for that? Or did I catch you at a bad time?"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's
religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently,
on the faults of other people's religions, she/he is in a bad condition."

Yeah, sure.
I asked a question, Jeff. No drama.
Because you said.... This is a silly game where you pretend we agreed with or substantiated something you said. It's disingenuous at the very least. Why would you accuse me like that?
So don't play games. One would hope that you might be willing to engage in a civil discussion, given half a chance.
Civil discussion would be much more likely if you weren't misrepresenting what was said, twisting it for your own benefit. But civil discussion requires that you list evidence that supports your accusations....in a civil manner.
You up for being HONEST, and stopping the silly misrepresentation nonsense? You up for that?
Not hardly.Or did I catch you at a bad time?
